Rika
The door shuts in Rika's face for a few seconds, before the door fully opens, with the young woman - clearly an Avis of some sort, now that she's upright- blinking at her.
"I apologise. You must be mistaken. These are for my roommate."
The girl looks over the stuff in Rika's hands with an oddly flat look.
"I am called Paiva Karjalainen. You must be looking for Maria. She would be at the training rooms right now."

Kruger
Professor Estelle just gives Kruger a very confused look. It seems using secret codes doesn't exactly work when the other person has never actually been read in.

Astrea
"Pink hair....and green eyes....no, they'd be blue. That's...not possible. Are you sure?"
"Kat, does that mean...?"
"It can't. But....."

Arnett
The bun is soft, tender and sticky, pearl sugar across the top. He finds the bun to be tender and sweet, but not overpowering. Annika looks at him in anticipation.

Orrel
"Well, last I saw them, they were in the Union office. I think we should split up, though. You find them, I'll find one of the professors."

Kaya

"Naturally I'd be willing to come along. I did agree to help locate Steven after all, so I would be remiss to not see him myself."

"Oh, OK. If Maria comes back before I find her, could you tell her to go back to the training rooms to meet up with me? My name is Rika, by the way. Thanks, Paiva!"

And with a wave, Rika headed down to the training rooms to find Maria.

Astrea raises an eyebrow. She doesn’t know how conceded she should be right now, "So did you know this person? Is she close to you?"

Lin

"My voice is my Arte. Nothing less. But also nothing more. To weaponize it against the Fiends, I have few effective options but to stand at the front and prevent harm from coming to my allies while empowering them. My fighting capabilities, while important, have become secondary in favor of those who can deal much more damage than I could in the same span of time. In a way, I'm a flagbearer without a flag."
"I've realized that early on. An ornate, singing weapon is much more fitting to me than a blade that cuts deep. That would be a fitting 'flag'."

@ Reeve

: "Ah. I'm sorry for prodding. I didn't know about your troubles with your family. Hopefully all your achievements here will help convince them that you made a wise choice in attending Solrise." Mordecai couldn't imagine any family not being proud of a child with Reeve's considerable talents. The vampire nodded in response to his rival's question.

: "Yeah, they sure did. This was about, oh I'd say eight, nine years ago." Long enough that he could talk about it, in other words, but not so long that his heart didn't ache a little at the memory. "A Calamity struck at a really bad time, and my mother and I barely made it to the keep where we holed up until knights from the Order arrived. Father stayed behind to try and slow the Fiends down. Just a farmer with his pitchfork, but it was enough. Er, obviously."

@ Ververs

Mordecai frowned at the professor's question. What was this about hobbies?

: "Anything...else? I'm afraid I don't follow, Professor. I see her in the library and other places around campus sometimes. We're both working very hard, you know, this being our third year and all. Exercising is a great way to unwind." Something was nagging at the back of Mordecai's mind as he spoke. Something about the history teacher's giggling and smiling...

Kruger

"I see. Makes sense, I guess. I can probably do something with that, like I said." She thought for a moment. "Anything else?"

Lin

"I shouldn't get too greedy. If you are asking me about my ideal weapon, I can reasonably assume that you want to craft something for all of us. I don't know if it's out of altruism or because you got an assignment for it, but that doesn't matter. The truth is probably both anyway."

He waits for a short moment before speaking up again.

"If you have time to spare though, a decorative shield, featuring the arms of House Wallhaim and crafted by a blacksmith not associated with my family, would amuse me as much as it would not amuse my father."

Kruger

The belgor shrugged.

"I do this for fun. I'll help you piss your dad off if you want. And yeah, Ramsay asked me to help with this, since I'm in the forge all the time anyway and I've seen plenty of how all of you fight."

Lin

Arnett's voice quieted to a whisper, his index fingers poked their tips together and his eyes avoided contact with Lin's.

"I... I'd appreciate that a lot, thanks, Lin."

Annika

"O-Oh- Oh-" The taste reminded Arnett of home, causing his eyes to widen and his cheeks to flush in response as his chewed. He didn't say anything as he chewed, savoring the taste with slightly sparkly eyes. Eventually, he swallowed, and his eyes closed to give way to a big, goofy smile. "It's really, really good...! Your mom's a really great cook- er- baker? It's delicious!"

Mus'ad
"Why? Whatdoyoumeanitwasyourfault?"

Mus'ad looks like he doesn't want to say it for a few moments before letting out a long breath.
"They were saying something about Orrel's family I'm pretty sure, and some incident within The Order. I... don't really remember, I wasn't interested and well, my arte is seeing the future, not the past."

Rika
Paiva nods quietly as Rika walks off.
"....I wonder if she was one of Maria's secret admirers. Maybe Maggie would know....if she was not helping Professor Ramsay with his robots."

Shrugging, Paiva quietly shuts the door.
....
Rika makes her way to the training rooms as Reeve, Kaya and Stephanie make their way out the opposite way. Her target, however, was not among them.

A young Dracis woman, about Rika's height and build, seems to be sparring with Theodora. If Rika were to look closely, her fists seem to be covered in what appears to be rough, chalky rock. Theodora seems to be dodging her blows, but barely.
"....you're fast for someone not on the combat course, Maria."
"And you.....are exactly what I expected from the Untouchable Girl."

Kruger
"Oh. Cualila and Huraw....huh. You're not the first one to ask about those. As it so happens....Steven seems to have checked out all of the books you're looking for himself. He came around about ten minutes ago."

Astrea
Katarina sighs.
"I'm going to get to the point. As you....might have guessed....I am a survivor of the Volskaya incident. This.....is not something I want to make public. I don't want....or need....anyone's pity. Only Per knows. Don't you dare tell anyone else."
"Kat, you don't need to..."
"I have to, Per. If something like this is happening, I have the obligation to do something about it."
The Lepis takes a breath.
"....I....knew a girl, there. A neighbor girl. Her name was Aleksandra. Her parents.....used to be the village butchers. We used to play together."
She shakes her head, trying to collect herself.
"She had pink hair and blue eyes, but...it can't be possible. There were no other survivors from my village. I'm sure of it."

Mordecai
Professor Ververs just stares at Mordecai.
"...my, my, a young man thinking with his head, instead of his heart. A rare specimen. I'm impressed."

Arnett
"Really? That's so good to hear! I'm glad you enjoy them. My mom would be so pleased...."

Mus'ad
"Huh? Didhegetmadatyou?"

Rika waited a few moments to make sure no one was about to throw a punch, then waved.

"Howdy Theodora! That Ilse's roommate Maria there with you?"

Mordecai

"Don't worry about my family woes Mordecai. I'm certain that they will change their tune once I achieve something grand" Reeve said, bouncing back to he normal demeanor before Mordecai explained the incident,

"... I am sorry to hear about your father, however. He must have been a brave soul to do such a thing. I..." for a few moments, the noble mage paused, trying to find the right words, before ultimately shaking her head, "My apologies, I shouldn't have asked you about that, especially in public."

Arnett

"No problem." She watched Arnett for a moment, trying to puzzle out his reaction. "Y'know, if you need help with stuff, I don't mind. And if you're worried about your Arte, I'm not really one to judge." She winced at the memory of her earlier meltdown at her roommate. "You still talk to me, so."

Mordecai

Lin was just finishing up a shift at the forge when she noted Mordecai heading in, presumably to occupy his time similarly to her.

"Oi, Hoth, good timing. You have a second to talk before you start today?"
