"... Well, there goes the initial attacks. Might as well start to move on my own. But first, if this would be a real situation, then the most important thing would be... Ah, yes."

Kruger deeply inhales, focusing on a certain part of his throat. A part that was unique to him, now energizing and supercharging his vocal cords.

"CITIZENS! A RESCUE TEAM IS HERE! FOLLOW OUR LEAD AND YOU WILL BE SAVED!"

A massive shout booms and echoes through the entire mock village, yet to those directly next to him, it doesn't have the usual negative effects that would inflict pain in the ear and make them say "what the frick!?". In addition, Kruger's control over his Arte makes it so that the high volume of his shout falls off rapidly beyond the borders of the village. No one on academy grounds who isn't at the test field would have heard him.

Kruger himself is somewhat disappointed that his shout only has little effect on Fiends, at best making them stop their movements for a second out of either shock of confusion. However, he cannot deny that such an Arte would have its uses in other situations.

"Good, citizens have been given rekindled hope."
"Sieglinde, mind following me? Your literal firepower would be a great boon in swiftly ensuring the northern villager's safety before the main group of Fiends catches up."

Orrel's fury had slowly been building up as Kruger had continued to needle his brother, but whatever had been about to snap was quieted by the arrival of the other class. Instead, it was filed away for later, a smoldering flame that would not be easily put out. It was time to focus, and that anger would not help.

As soon as the test began though, all of the class's training seemed to go out the window. No discussion was had, no waiting for tactics. Simply a rush in, leaving their team split and fractured. A sigh escaped his lips before he clamped down on them. It wouldn't do to have regrets. Simply focus and remake any plans he'd formed at the start. It seemed likely that the group running off to the left had things under control for now. Cattleya and Rika could possibly use some back up, but he would wait a few seconds on that one. If Kruger and Lin went north... Right.

"Kaya, Arnett. For now, try and stay near groups but not directly with any one of them. We're too spread out for that right now. Mus'ad, you stay with them to give them a boost towards a group if they need it. Vicky, come with me, we're heading south."

Arnett's confidence was still in the pits, but that didn't mean he was going to stay silent throughout a direct order from his brother.

"R-Right...! Um... Kaya— you should probably go to the right— your Arte probably will help a bit more with the larger group." Despite his shot confidence, he tried to sound genuine; Kaya was technically the better healer with her Arte... Arnett did wish he could use his Arte.

Arnett to I12
Kaya to K14

"Sure." She made no further comment as she walked forward, brushing past Kruger in the process. The heat radiating off of her was already palpable, especially at such a short range.

Kruger wipes a drop of sweat off his forehead as Lin passes by.

There was no verbal response from the blacksmith-in-training, but the heat seemed to intensify for a moment before wavering and returning to its previous level.

"Alrighty Orrel, I got your back." The metal demoness skipped after without hesitation. Vicky was more than willing to leave the strategy to those with the mind for it. She didn't nearly jave the patience for something so droll. She readied her beloved red axe as she readied herself to get to work. Her music had a powerful effect she found, it spurred people on to greatness, to fight beyond their normal means. Her arte only enhanced those capabilities. Vicky started woth a power stroke, a full chord to set the tone. The air vibrated at the axe's voice, shredding power slicing through the din of combat. Vicky's voice matched, as if she spoke through a microphone and yet one wasn't present. Her whole squad could easily hear her, it... was good this wasn't a sneaking mission.

" HEEEELLO SOLRISE!!!" she started with her typical concert greeting. Why fix what wasn't broke after all. Her arte could be felt by all, the power tearing through the air. "This one goes out to all those who have passed today, and all those giving their all. Lovey Dovey Metal Devil loves ya, now throw up those horns cause it's time ta rock and roll!"

Move to K17, and shred for Orrel. Activate Arte for the hitAura.

Orrel made a mental note to get earplugs before the next battle. He had them in his room, but some extra pairs in his belt pouch couldn't hurt... Still. Time for action, ringing ears or not.

The villager nearby, rather than gratitude, looks shocked. Which makes sense, he was never in any REAL danger, but....

Professor Ramsay claps.
"Well done, Sokolov. Your combat class marks were high, but I didn't expect you to take so well to proper combat. However, I must test your tactical knowledge as well as your combat prowess. Allow me to test your wits as well as your skill."

With a snap of his fingers, a gigantic automaton resembling the bat-like Camazotz begins to emerge from the woods to the north, beginning to move towards the village.
The Great Camazotz Fiend Automaton can now move!
Kruger is being targeted with Night Slash!

He'd realized a second too late that he had over extended himself. The flying automaton in the back of the pack swooped around to block his retreat and he couldn't do anything but act instinctively. His years of training kicked in and he twirled to the right, fans snapping up to deflect the blow coming in. A focused slash with the fan sent the flying fiend tumbling to the ground, light fading as it shut down. The ground forces attacked next, with the spider moving first. Again, a twirl followed by a blow that sent the machine to the ground, inactive once again. The wolf shaped one was too quick for him, leaving a small gash on his arm, but he kept his focus, and another one hit the ground. The final spider charged in... a leap over the back of the spider followed by a devastating blow from his fans and Orrel found himself panting, surrounded by lifeless machines.

A compliment from the Professor shook him out of the zone he had entered, but it was followed by a threat as a giant bat was activated and started moving. Time to take control of their team like he had said he would before all of this started. A quickly cleared throat and he was ready to call out. He moved a few paces closer to get a good sight of the enemy and so his voice could be heard. He called out in a clear baritone, clearly trained to cut through the clash of battle. It was loud enough to carry through the small faux village and he could only hope they would listen.

"We have a new priority! We cannot allow that fiend close to the villagers! Kaya, your arte will help protect those who attack it, so get that area set up as quickly as possible! Lin, I want you moving in first, your aim and your arte should help to slow that thing down!"

Next step, next step... Reeve. As arrogant as she had been during the initial waiting period, he knew her magic was strong. She was probably the best choice to try and deal a hard blow there...

"Reeve, you're up after that. Have Mus'ad help in whatever way he can if you need it. Do your best to take that thing down! If she does, everyone else focus on the groups you're facing. Do whatever you think is best to hold your lines and keep the villagers safe! Remember that above all, that is our goal!"

There. Now all he could do is wait to see how the cards would fall...

Shortly after incinerating one of the automatons that tried to strike her, Reeve heard their volunteer tactician shout his orders, a brief respite from the even briefer struggle she just took part in. Her listening was initially out of interest, partly to hear what his own plans for the battle were, but a grin quickly grew on her face once she heard her name and what her target was to be: The giant Camazotz that was making their way over to them, spurred by whatever showing Orrel had made. It wasn't much of a worry for the heiress, especially considering it sped them along.

"Consider it done, o'vibrant tactician!" she shouted back, red book vanishing underneath her cloak as she turned back and ran to the center of the battleground, coming to a halt in front of the class' fortune teller,

"So Wyrm, I presume the stars are still in alignment?"

Mordecai shuddered as the giant bat-like automaton activated. The thing was bringing back some unpleasant memories...but it wasn't headed for him and was far out of range, so he tried to put it out of mind. The vampire instead approached the cluster of lesser constructs as Reeve ran off.

"Roger that, Orrel! Though it seems such a shame to make a day like this get all rainy, even if I COULD just reverse it later...."

The skies over the village suddenly fill with light gray clouds, swirling over the very spot Kaya stood. The smell that one only sensed before a bout of fresh rainfall fills the air, and soon one, then two, then a multitude of raindrops begin to gently fall all over the village. Such is Kaya's Arte, power over the weather itself.

Mordecai, meanwhile, eviscerates another Ungoliant Fiend, rending it apart.
