Oakstance
"Huh, it's almost like I accounted for the fact the Goat Slime would counterattack and used my expendable, temporary body to tank the hit. Shame a certain someone didn't bite the bullet and punch the damn thing, or at least cast a spell!"
He's grumpy, and actually... Wait, what is he doing digging around in there-
Dig around in the tree's power - Is there some way we can revoke a Dryad's physical form and recycle their mana?

...Wow, that's one grumpy dwarf.

Petra

"Ugh. Alright. Come 'ere, you beady-eyed fuck!"

Taunt the goat slime, and try to get it to chase me south, doing my best to avoid actually getting hit.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

"Hey, you're free to help me out here - I'd rather do something tree-wise than the obvious... Assasination."
His spirit looks directly at Doraldo.
"And before you ask, I am unashamed that I am considering this. I kept my action in mind as we debated, but you just steadfastly refused to strike the slime... Or do anything, for that matter."

"Well, this turn, I figured experimentation to be our greatest weapon. I made the Sundew Overgrown through futzing with logic, maybe we can tease out an "demanifest" spell the same way. It might not work if only I try to evoke it, but multiple Dryads focused on such a thing could make it work. And if it doesn't work this round, well... Snakes are fast, sharp and simple, I must admit."

Old Oak attempts to use 1 mana to Empower Oakstance's attempt to learn how to decommission dryads.

"I was against this path we've taken from the beginning, and unchecked they will just keep throwing good mana after bad while the rest of us wither."

"Indeed. I expect the crafter to be reasonable, but we have no reason to be subtle, o emperor ours. I do not enjoy seeing the minor deeds that Doraldo has taken compared to those any other of us could."

Doraido
Lifelink Petra and Mouse 1, 1.0 multiplier.
Lifelink Petra and Mouse 2, 1.0 multiplier.

I'm not even a fighter, but Petra is for some reason. I was not the one who angered the goat slime because of greed and curiosity.

And the bird was preemptive, as I seem to understand Petra will default to killing over peaceful actions.

-1 to using the tree's mana for such a purpose. You can research without it.

I also note that I support Inanna for the next Dryad, either if I am revoked, or we gather enough mana.

Autumn 9, Year 1

The last leaf has fallen from the tree

Oakstance attempts to find a way to revoke a Dryad's physical form and recycle their mana. It will NEVER be possible to get mana refunded from a spell, but you now have a means of terminating a problematic dryad.

Doraido lifelinks one of the mice to Petra, negating the link to the Bucket Slime and establishing a new link between Petra and the Mouse.

Doraido lifelinks one of the mice to Petra, negating the link to the other mouse and establishing a new link between Petra and the second Mouse.

The mice flee the area, and the Bucket Slime is no longer immediately relevant.

Petra taunts the Goat Slime and attempts to lure it out of the area. As Petra is the only reason the Goat Slime is still here, this works pretty well. Petra is now in the south area, as is the Goat Slime. There isn't really anywhere else you can run to from there.

In the south zone, you can see some withering foliage. A white spider is on the prowl here.

Goat Slime: 51/60 hp (South area)
Mouse: 2/2 hp (8/17 LL:1) (In another area)
White Spider: 5/5 hp (South area)

There is a shallow trench around the tree.
The tree is poorly encircled by defenses.

Petra

Use a 2.0 vinewall to launch myself back northwards, hopefully swiftly enough to leave the goat slime confused as to where I've gone. If it continues to pursue me, try going east from there.

He blinked. Alrighty then. That was a severe button to be able to push. He personally didn't quite mind it, but... It was a real investment to make a move like that. He'd start fights if he didn't discuss it first.
"Uh... Severe measures seem to be the only measures we have. Old Oak? Inanna? Arachnea, if you're here? Do we dare take those drastic measures to put a proper fighter on the field? It's... Not something I'll rush into blindly."
