The Sundew will Probably not release prey if left to its own devices.

Heal my new best friend the sundew.

Has 1/2 health, so no. Maybe control it so that it ups it's acid before it's damaged. At which point I can heal it. Can it heal on it's own from eating?

Doraido

Jump forward at Borble A. Strike directly with my arm, Absorb Flesh x1.0. Turn them to mulch.

Spring 7, Year 1

Inana has reverted to Spirit form.

If your downvotes are not appropriately bolded, they may be missed in the future.

Petra summons a Vinewall at 1.0 magnitude to strike Borble B. It isn't really enough to knock it into the air, but the impact did 1 damage anyway, which was enough.

Doraido attacks Borbla A using Absorb Flesh to deal 2 damage! The Borble has been converted into low-quality mulch.

The Giant Sundew deals 1 damage to Borble C, ending the immediate threat!

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.
Some low-quality mulch has been created
There are 2 dead Borbles in the area

Petra

Take a piece of vine from one of the vinewall columns I've used to fling stuff, and Fabricate (.5) some bandages, then spend the rest of my effort (.5) applying them to myself, hopefully healing myself a bit.

If it doesn't take that sort of effort to apply the bandages, instead
get some rocks together and Fabricate (.5 1.0) a good spear, with a solid handle and, if possible, an obsidian tip.

Old Oak feels conflicted, but is ultimately probably glad everything seems to be in order and nobody died. It would have been vindicating, but not especially helpful. It just hopes DoritosDoraido has the presence of mind to spend some time healing the defenses as well as Petra, because it's sure the next fight will come up before we manage to save up 25 mana.

Doraido

"I kinda wonder if it is going to spit it out or just eat it to recover? Also not sure if trying to make bandages to heal the slow way is good, put more effort into things?"

Walk over to Petra and cast [Life] Heal x1.0, trying to focus/hold it to heal them rather than just shooting off.

"Fair enough. I'll focus on the spear, then."

Oakstance chuckled. Why ask questions about something...
When they could provide their own answer?
Vote: Control Defense [Giant Sundew]
Action: Consume prey, keeping nutrients for itself to heal

Spring 8, Year 1

Its a quiet day...

Petra fabricates a spear made of stone at 1.0 magnitude. It turned out as well as a 1.0 skill would reasonably produce, though in spite of this the durability of it seems dubious.

Doraido invokes heal at magnitude 1.0, restoring 1 health to Petra! It seems unlikely that this skill will heal beyond the power that is put into it.

Oakstance casts Control Defense to take control of the Giant Sundew, hoping to obtain enough nutrients by consuming the Borble to heal it... And it actually worked!

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.
Weeds begin to sprout from the low-quality mulch
There are 1.5 dead Borbles in the area

Aracnea
I think we should move the mulch so it’s near the tree’s roots, as well as convert the borble corpses and weeds into mulch/fertilizer for the tree as well

Doraido

Gives Petra the shovel.

"Best start moving, I'll focus on healing you."
[Life]"Heal" x1.0 on Petra

Perhaps one can get the sundew to spit the rest out so it can be turned to mulch. I wonder if it's dropped at it's base if mulch can help it grow?
