What can the slime be used for?

Well, things are fine now. For now.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

Old Oak has been contemplating an idea for some time and, now that things are quiet, finally decides (after slow deliberation) to make the effort to share it. Pianissimo and lento, in violin and cello harmony, it hums, "Would you try, dense coat of vines, insulation, keep out wind and frost?"

(Sorry about that, been busy.)

Petra

Try to bring the remains of the slime to the tree, then raise another Vinewall (1.0) to complete the wall around the tree.

Winter 10, Year 0

The snow is beginning to melt!

Petra attempts to move the slime remains... And takes 1 damage! The former slime remains where it is for now.

Petra brings up a vinewall at 1.0 magnitude around the tree. There is now something that resembles an actual wall around the tree! It won't stop any serious attacks, but non-serious attacks might be warded off once or twice now!

The tree is now poorly encircled by defenses.

Petra

Fabricate (1.0) a shovel, and use it to move some of the slime near the tree. If it damages it, move it away; otherwise, move the rest over.

"Damn slime... Doraido, I'm thinking once we can pull someone else, I want you. Best to have someone who can heal so we don't have to rely on mana for that."

It seems it may be soon if Spring comes. Maybe use the slime to dissolve the snow? Hopefully warmth comes soon.

Spring 1, Year 1

Spring has finally arrived!

The tree begins to awaken, and for the first time in quite a while it starts to produce mana once again!

Petra creates a stone shovel at 1.0 magnitude, and moves the slime to be near the tree; but not quite in contact with it. Mere proximity to the slime does not cause damage so the remaining slime is also moved. The shovel looks a bit worse for wear now. Not much though.

The tree is poorly encircled by defenses.

Old Oak sighs and votes, without speaking, for just fucking around for another... day... or whatever these are so we can get to the MANIFESTING. Even though it knows that it's not first choice on the list. It has opinions on who should be and what should be done next, but it doesn't feel the need to express these right now. It does hope Petra will get around to using its idea from before, though.

Petra

Use the shovel to start digging a trench, just outside the vinewall circle, packing the dirt into the gaps in the vinewall as I do so. Any notable resources will be gathered and kept for later use.

[Not yet, though I think Glass wants a healer that doesn't need to spend Mana. Next turn there will be enough.]

Spring 2, Year 1

Slowly but surely, the tree begins to grow and leaves begin to form. After a long winter, the tree finally has that 5 mana that I just know you all were waiting for so eagerly!

Petra begins to dig around the vines, some of which still survive to this day in the more lenient weather. Nothing of interest beyond the grass and dirt were discovered as of yet...

Something appears to be approaching from the distance!

The tree is poorly encircled by defenses.
