Oakstance thinks. He wondered for a  moment, then just kinda did it. If it didn't work, oh well. If it did, then science.

Control Defense: Giant Sundew

Summer 6, Year 1

The rain slows down
The rain washed the mud off of the vinewall around the tree

Doraido invokes Light Bind on Slime B at magnitude 1.0, holding the thing in place... For now. Slime B nibbles at the expired vinewall it was already on top of.

Petra invokes Vinewall at magnitude 1.0 to strike Slima A for 1 damage! It turns out that a vinewall at magnitude 1.0 from an Adolescent Dryad is no more powerful than a magnitude 1 one from a newborn one. The slime seemed prepared this time, and counterattacked the new vinewall for 1 damage, destroying it!

However, Petra is also able to use a melee attack with an equipped weapon now, bopping Slime B to inflict 2 damage! The condition of the shovel degrades from the slime...

Oakstance attempts to Control the Giant Sundew to encourage it to grow... Apparantly that is a thing you can do! The Giant Sundew has grown somewhat to something that has 3 hp! This defense has broken its limits, though the likelihood of it growing further in the same manner seems slim.

A couple of new intruders have arrived! One of them is a wayward spirit, which just sort of drifts along with the wind. The other one is... A Pink and purple polka-dotted slime!? I've never heard of such a slime variant. And where does it get off having 12.01 hp anyway? Fractional health isn't even supposed to be a thing in this game!

Slime A: 3/5hp
Slime B: 3/5hp - Light Bind
Pink and purple polka-dotted slime: 12.01/12.01
Wayward Spirit: N/A

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.
There is a small hole with some water in it near the vinewall next to the tree
There is a partially eaten dead vinewall around here

Petra

"Doraido, either keep binding B, or drain it. I'm going to do this."

Launch slime A away from the tree with a 2.0 Vinewall.

"Now. Ah. Salutations, spirit. Would you kindly identify yourself?"

Control defense: The overgrown sundew waves a vine to the newcomers (while trying to eat Slime A)!

Doriado

If the Polka-dot Slime is hostile, use [Light]Bind x1.0. on it. If not.

I wonder if this slime can be tamed?

If not, cast Heal on the Slime at x1.0 intensity. See if it can be Tamed.

Summer 7, Year 1

The rain has stopped

Petra invokes Vinewall at magnitude 2.0 under Slime A! It was perhaps less of a launch and more of a fling, but you managed to get it into the air. Slime A takes 2 damage.

The spirit responds. "I am Al. I am a researcher of slimes. Or at least, I was."

Someone (Who really should include their name, but I guess its not important for Control defense) casts Control Defense. The Sundew flails a bit. It is not in range of Slime A, but it tries to eat it anyway.

Doraido observes the Pink and purple polka-dotted slime to see if it is hostile or not. It stretches and contorts in a strange way and some kind of dust scatters around the area...

Slime A is transformed into a Poison Slime! The Poison Slime spits a gob of toxins at Petra, dealing no damage, but inflicting poison upon him! Petra takes 1 damage from poison!

Slime B is transformed into a Muscle Slime! It breaks free of the Light Bind and proceeds to finish eating the Vinewall, recovering 1 health!

Its not entirely clear if the Pink and purple polka-dotted slime is hostile or not, so that doesn't quite fall into either category.

Poison Slime: 1/10hp
Muscle Slime: 4/20hp
Pink and purple polka-dotted slime: 12.01/12.01
Wayward Spirit: N/A

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.

Doraido

"We kinda have to look out for ourselves. No hard feelings."

Up for vote: Doraido Newborn Ability Purchase 1/3 [Life]

3 Mana will give a 'random' ability. 6 would allow me to gain Cleanse.

[Life]Cleanse: Generate a pool of cleansing water which purifies Status effects to those within it. Power determines number of Cleanses the water can perform, Power of Cleanse, and/or amount of water generated. (All 3 can be dialed up or down at time of casting. Reducing the first two effects to near nothing means the amount of water generated takes up most of the Ability's Power.)

Regardless of vote result, use Absorb Flesh on Muscle Slime.

Petra

"Piece of shit- they killed you, I take it? Blegh, fucking poison bastard..."

1.0 vinewall to try to defeat the poison slime, then 1.0 Petrify the remains of the vinewall that the muscle slime ate.

"Can you tell us about the polka slime? And the others, of course."

(any others)[And the vote is mostly trying to get a ability to remove status effects. The 6 cost one mostly allows me to create water as another aspect of the ability. No more using two turns to get water to bring back.]

Note: Even if a vote would pass, a player specific upgrade cannot be forced on them. If you want to get a random ability, please clarify that better.

Summer 8, Year 1

A burst of mana alters Doraido, granting them some kind of new ability!

Doraido invokes absorb flesh on the Muscle Slime to deal 2 damage. The Muscle slime retaliates by slamming Doraido to deal 3 damage!

Petra invokes a vinewall at magnitude 1.0, and inflicts the necessary 1 damage needed to finish the Poison Slime! Petra then invokes Petrify to try to clean up the remains of a vinewall. All it does it at this point is add a few more pebbles to the ground as there wasn't much left of that particular wall.

The Pink and purple polka-dotted slime just sort of wiggles.

Some replies have been coaxed out of the spirit. "Yes... I can hear you... I've been dead for... For a while before I found this one. That one... It changes the others. This is the first time I've seen one. The others... Harder to say. The changes I observed are inconsistent from...". The spirit does some unintelligble mumbling for a while after that.

Petra takes 1 poison damage!

Muscle Slime: 2/20hp
Pink and purple polka-dotted slime: 12.01/12.01
Wayward Spirit: N/A
