I think it used all of it to heal
There are 1.5 dead borbles in the area, so only half?

Oakstance was having fun driving this carnivorous plant. Probably not the best of things, but he would have little else to do until the mana production ramped up and he could Manifest proper.
Control Defense: Giant Sundew
Continue consumption, but rather than keep the nutrients, send them back down the roots to the tree we're connected to.

Petra

"Thanks."

Shovel the low-quality mulch around the base of our tree, then dig a trench around the outside of the encircling vinewall, packing the dirt into its gaps.

Spring 9, Year 1

The call of birds break the silence

Doraido relinquishes the shovel, and invokes Heal at 1.0 magnitude on Petra, restoring 1 health.

Oakstance casts Control Defense on the Giant Sundew... It does not appear to be possible for this particular defense to directly send nutrients back to the tree. The corpse degrades further.

Petra moves the remains of the low quality mulch over to the tree. If its providing any benefits, the effects are not immediately obvious. Additional turns will need to be spent in order to also do other things with the shovel.

A blue-colored bird has appeared in the area!

Bird: 3/3hp

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.
There are 1.4 dead Borbles in the area

I’don’t think the bird is hostile, I know of no birds that eat leaves, I think the remaining corpse pieces can be converted into mulch

There are totally some!
Not all that many, because flight is expensive and leaves are not super energetic, which is why cows mostly just laze around all day. But some.

Spring 10, Year 1

Things are getting warmer

Doriado casts light bind at magnitude 1.0 on the Bird for some reason. Petra then strikes it with the Stone Spear to deal 2 damage.

The victimized bird vocalizes, and birds off in the distance fly further away.

Bird: 1/3hp (Light Bind)

The tree is partially encircled by defenses.

Doriado

Make some armor out of it, bones would be useful for weapons. The flesh can be turned to fertilizer once Petra is done.

[Absorption Line] Absorb Flesh x1.0 the remaining Borble in the area.

Oakstance is actually deeply unsettled by these events.
"A harmless bird, and you fools are doing that to it. I will have no part in this armor or these weapons. We are of nature, and that means we are to coexist, not... blatantly disrupt."
