I did not post in this forum for some... weeks?
Been mostly gone...
And I cringed at this thread and just skimmed trough it because from my POV its just bunch of people arguing about words... worthless to me..

Then you linked that legendary Michael Jackson song that brought joy into my lonely life... thank you, stranger.

Check the Mildly Upset Thread for the beginning of this conversation, this thread was so we could continue that discussion without further derailment from the parent thread

They have a distinct ethnicity (broadly language and allevism), they have their territories and administrative bodies 1 2, as well as territories "without self-administration". All of these territories are part of formal nations, none of those nations is called Kurdistan.
No, all those entities are part of formal COUNTRIES, of which none is called Kurdistan.

Well, I believe that a better world can be achieved by working within the existing system to reform it and fix its problems, not trashing it completely and probably creating even more problems than before.

This is why I support social democracy/social libertarianism.

The problems with monarchy were dealt with by making a new system, democracy. Sometimes systems have problems stuck in the system. The Constitution started as an attempt to fix the Articles of Confederation, until they realized that they had to start anew.

Well, the problems of monarchy as a system can be reduced with a constitution without trashing the whole system. Like in Great Britain, Sweden, and many other countries. Same with capitalism and other regulations.

What's the point in keeping the turds around at all?

Is the upheaval and opposition from the conservatives worth it? In my opinion, not really. Assuming you're talking about monarchs.

I'm okay with dismantling the inheritave monarchy but only if the elected head of state position is still called king ("kung" in swedish). We used to elect kings anyway, there's no reason we can't do that again. In fact we deserve it. Gustav Vasa stole our democracy from us. Knugen to the people!

But president? Never. I'll not take the word in my mouth.
