Bio: Rei’s name wasn’t given to him by his parents, instead it was given to him by other street urchins. It means “King”, a title he earned from beating up other kids, many times years older than him. Rei was alone as far as he can remember, and quickly learned he had to fight to survive in the slums of the Kingdom of Marinia. While the country enjoys peace, there are always the poorer cities, and in these poor cities there are poor neighbourhoods. Rei was lucky though, at a young age he awoke to, and mastered his arte which he named the Electric Wind King Fist. It made life easier, as he could simply beat up weaker kids for food. Eventually other kids started serving under Rei, truly making him a king. His gang became a home for a dozen of kids that otherwise had no choice but to steal.
 
His “kingdom” came crashing down when a gang of adults took issue with their operation. They had no mercy on the kids, leaving them broken. Rei tried to protect his subjects, but he eventually fell. He was left for dead on a back alley, and would have probably died that day were it not for a passing Yamajimian man. His name was Kousuke, a writer who came to Marinia to enjoy the weather as he worked on his newest novel. Kousuke took pity on Rei, and housed him. Rei was initially wary of Kousuke, but came to trust the man and eventually even love him. Kousuke taught Rei how to read and write, something Rei took to quickly. He became enamoured with Kousuke’s novels, and swore to one day write his own novels of romance. He also admired Yamajimian culture, adding a lot of phrases Kousuke used to his own vocabulary.
 
Fighting was still in Rei’s blood, and Kousuke recognised this. The two talked about Rei’s future, something he never thought he could have. Kousuke recommended him to Solrise Academy. Rei needed experience, whether he was going to be a writer or a fighter. Solrise could provide him both. Rei swore to his guardian to return a man from Solrise Academy, one that new the true meaning of what being a man means.

Backstory:
Born to two Tianchao migrants who settled in Erebia, Yoke Minru is a bright girl with unusual penchant for getting excited when it comes to combat. Or friendship-making. Either of the two.

Her father was a surgeon and her mother a dutiful housewife, they've quickly noticed that there's something wrong with their daughter. She was overtly excited when socializing with other kids, and likewise the kids that got closer to her were becoming bundles of chaotic energy, and rarely did furniture and ornaments remained not-upturned after Yoke and her friends stopped playing to take a nap. Whilst her mother simply put it as 'its the age' kinda matter, her father was a bit more skeptical that Yoke is just a normal kid with limitless amount of energy.

It became rather troublesome when Yoke became a teenager, especially so that her 'excitement' coupled with her natural good looks made her a ticking bomb for potential trouble or drama - teenage Yoke could get in mood swings or cause an argument for the least of reasons. It wasn't until her father had a random dinner with one of Alphinite researchers that a theory was proposited: that it might not be anything mental or natural in her head or body, but that Yoke might be actually have an Arte of sorts.

Now, the Blue Moon Academy and Yoke's homeland of Tianchao was a bit far, and her parents couldn't afford either regular travel back and forth to fetch Yoke, nor could they move back to the Kingdom as her parents, as it turned out, weren't welcome in Tianchao anymore. But once again, the Alphinite researcher came with a helping hand - he proposed that Yoke, in hopes of establishing the true nature of her Arte, and to learn to control it for benefit of all involved, would be sent to a local research facility to do some testing.

The tests took almost a year, in which Yoke was able to socialize with other Arte-wielding teens her age. The theory that her Arte was 'pheromonic' in nature was quickly disproven, albeit the name stuck, and Yoke continues to call her Arte 'Battle Pheromones' even to this day. During the testing it was found out that not only does Yoke possess an 'Arte', but that there's also a small bundle of magical potential hidden in her (which confounded her parents, as the last magician in her family was Yoke's infamous great-great-grandfather, "Black Chenyu"). Tests that Yoke took part in also included physical and mental training, with which Yoke had little trouble, and afterwards her overall high marks put her in the top of her group.

The stay at the facility ended, and just when seh thought that she will be returning home to her friends and family, her parents arrived to tell her that she will not be retuning home, but rather she will be joining something called 'Solrise Academy'. Yoke, at the time, wasn't very book-minded - history and geography being her worst - but once she heard that it was a place for kids like her, and that she could put her 'Arte' to benefit of all of entirety of the planet (as her father put it), her dejected mood once became ecstatic, and Yoke began looking forward to  at the prospect.

The two years at Solrise Academy changed Yoke quite a lot - from easily excitable, nearly 'book-dumb' and carefree girl she became... well... she is still rather easily excitable. But! History and geography are no longer a problem (and neither are maths or sciences - only in languages she struggles a bit), and her Arte is no longer troublesome to her, nor it has an effect on nearby people, unless of course Yoke allows for it. Her teachers have found her to be quite diligent student and her classmates has since Day One found her a valuable asset in group activities and reliable person to go to with their problems or secrets, if they have any.

At the Academy, Yoke spends most of the time following a rather monotonous schedule: wake up, attend classes, hit the gym/training room/library for hours, socialize for some time in late evening, then go to sleep around midnight. She rarely if ever visits any Clubs or joins team activities, which has always confounded her friends, who thought that given her extroverted nature, Yoke would be attending at least 3 places simultaneously and still have enough energy to go places afterwards. The shifting of classes every year likewise provided no trouble for Yoke, and she has quite a few acquitances in other classes, besides Class 3-F that she is going to attend this year.

Whatever the Academy has prepared for her this year (hopefully, no repeat of the Pasta Statue Incident), Yoke is ready to face it, full of energy and optimism.

Bio: The second son of the war minister in Rheinberg, Radolf Armin Josef Wallhaim, the life of Kruger has been decided upon from an early age on. Education, etiquette and fencing were a daily duty in his youth, with his rather direct and harsh nature being a major factor of not becoming a viable candidate for marriage. A personality that has been carefully exaggerated by Kruger himself even at a tender age, for he realized early what it meant to be married in the aristocracy and had no interest in becoming a pawn of his father in the game of political diplomacy. Deemed an "undesirable" while showing great aptitude for academics, his father eventually arranged for Kruger to study abroad at the Starfall Academy.

During his academy time, Kruger made few acquaintances and even fewer friends, for he had only one goal in mind: Ascend from the relative mediocricy of the Starfall Academy, and become exalted where it matters in his eyes, in the prestigious Solrise Academy. For that purpose, he was studying day and night, letting himself not get distracted outside of an occasional visit in the local Gentleman's Club to make attempts at forming political relationships.
And indeed, at the end of the first year at Starfall, he earned himself an almost flawless certificate. On the same day, he delivered a passionate and rousing speech to his father - a speech he has prepared for the moment the last exam ended - to convince him to support his application for Solrise Academy via monetary methods.

His father sent a meager, token amount.

Nevertheless, it was enough to gain a seat in the first year class of Solrise. This is the most important step for Kruger. Almost reaching the age of 20, and he already had his own life set in stone in his eyes: Graduate with remarkable results, walk up the stairs of politics, and become not a minister, but the leader of the Confederation.

Orrel Sokolov IV's younger brother was contented with the idea that he was not in quite as high of a standing as his brother. Their mother had been allowed to name the younger brother after Orrel Sokolov III continued the family name. Almost as a form of rebellion from their struggling marriage, their mother gave Arnett his name; a name with similar meaning to Orrel's, but borrowing from her York descent rather than staying with Ruthenian dialect.

Despite his mother naming him, Arnett was attached to his father and was more than happy to stay with him in their divorce. Even if he had neutral feelings on both of his parents, he would have mainly stayed with his father to stay with his older brother. Despite being meek compared to his tougher older brother— as well as not even having a noticeable Arte like his brother, the two got along well— even when their father disappeared during the Volskaya Disaster.

Though he was young, he understood the gravity of their situation enough when they had to move to York with their mother and were to never see their father again. Arnett unhealthily coped in the opposite manner that Orrel did— he shut himself away. At first, he didn't do anything but lay in bed until he was coaxed out of his room by his brother. Eventually, he got bored and got into painting. He was rocky at first, but improved with time. It even helped to slightly mend his relationship with his mother as she supported his hobby. However, it wasn't always enough; Arnett still resented her whenever she considered kicking Orrel out for the crime of defending him because he was too weak to defend himself.

When Orrel entered Solrise Academy, that had become the turning point for Arnett. With no more Orrel to defend him, Arnett may as well have had a million dollar bounty on his head for everyone who picked a fight with Orrel. Fighting physically like Orrel once did was out of the question, so Arnett tried to learn a bit of magic for self-defense. He got about as far as being able to heal his own wounds— he didn't quite have the heart to use magic.

That was until he found a tome that taught him the secrets of making art come to life. It took a sleepless night as Arnett composed the perfect bodyguard— from a featureless slate to a fearsome bodyguard who could throw punches at an almost inhuman speed. However, Arnett didn't even need to get into a fight— the mere presence of the bodyguard made most scamper off— except for one, one who knew plenty of techniques to keep the bodyguard on its toes. From there, Arnett could only fear the days that ticked away until that remaining fighter managed to take down his Imago.

That next day was the day that Arnett learned— this whole time, just like his brother, he had an Arte.

The bodyguard was beginning to falter, brute strength starting to falter in the face of the bully's skill. After all, a painting could not replicate a human no matter how hard Arnett tried. Fear and desperation gripped him— he wished he could do something— and then as he felt his own mind begin to drain and accept defeat, the bodyguard seemed to grow even more powerful and deny the idea of defeat. From that victorious battle, Arnett was left alone— quite literally, as nobody dared approach him even with the idea of friendship in fear that his bodyguard would destroy them with a mere flick.

Arnett grew bored of school. He found everything a bit too easy for him and he had too much time to enjoy his painting. With that, he enrolled in Solrise Academy. He initially struggled with the workload due to wanting more and more time to paint, but made it work out of sheer determination to motivate his brother. No matter what, his brother would not flunk another year as long as he was there. Even if time between him and his painting grew more scarce, his mental fortitude beginning to grow as well...

Bio: The Polyion family is a name of history and deep rooted isolation, a rich nobility that had always preferred to keep to itself, untouched by the peaks and valleys of politics, rivalries, or wars, only choosing to act if their delicate isolation was at risk. Though young during the time of the Great Calamity, their Home of Southern Erebia allowed them to live peacefully despite the ravaged lands just outside their borders, as well as witness the birth of the Elerian Order. Through time though, the Polyions slowly began to stretch their wings, establishing themselves in various ranks and positions through the Kingdoms surrounding them. Even then, the family tended to be fairly secretive, creating a nobility well known for their quietness and calm nature. They also are known to disapprove of the existence of the Elerian Order, seeing it as a waste of time, a belief that was only strengthened due to the Volskaya Disaster. This distrust goes far enough that it’s rare to see a Polyion at any academy run by the Order, the family preferring to use their history and influence to make their way into the world.

These traits are not ones you’d find in Reeve, however.

Born as her family’s third daughter, Reeve was noted at a young age to be that of a prodigy, naturally gifted in the art of magic, among other things. But it was also apparent that Reeve took life in a different stride than her siblings. Where most of her family would keep to themselves, Reeve always spoke her mind, butting into conversations seemingly at random and basking in the attention she acquired for any and all achievements. Where her siblings were content to relax and enjoy the life of comfort granted to them, Reeve was always on the move, often forcing her way out of her family’s home and out into the world, eager to explore the lands and kingdoms that surrounded her, and above all make a name for herself. Despite these forced ‘vacations’ however, Reeve’s academic studies never took a hit, consistently impressing her private tutors with her ability to learn and apply knowledge. Her personality and social skills, on the other hand, were not as well developed.

For the most part, although annoying, her family dealt with the issues of their odd prodigy child as they came up without more than a huff. At least, until she decided to enroll at the Solrise Academy. To say her parents were outraged would be an understatement, ignited at the thought of their daughter choosing to learn at a school run by those they could never trust. Despite this, and the several long days of arguing and fighting, Reeve didn’t relent, eventually forcing a compromise between the two parties.

Reeve would be allowed to go, with the family backing her with any tuition payments that she herself could not afford, as unlikely as it may be. But, should Reeve leave the academy for any reason prematurely, she would be disowned permanently, revoked of her name and connections to her family.

Naturally, Reeve took this in stride, setting out to cement her name in history as the greatest mage in history, passing Solrise Academy’s entrance exam with flying colors. Though rough, Reeve’s carefree attitude hid a hardworking woman who managed to keep up with the demands and challenges the Academy threw at her and her classmates, solidifying her position in their ranks.

Bio: Victoria is a girl well known in the modern day, A revolutionary that leads a charge into unknown territories in the fields of music and art. Her band Lovey Dovey Metal Devil are the first in the genre known as metal, and are massively popular with the Belgor demographic of the world. However, to understand LDMD one must first understand their lead vocalist herself.

Our tale begins in Eastern Rhienburg with a modest family of Belgor, they were well off enough to never worry about their lives and to live comfortably. Victoria’s Father, Bartholomew Bathory, or Barty to his friends and wife, was a well respected Knight Officer of The Order. Her mother, Eliza, worked from home, a writer and painter. Between the two of them their 6 children were well taken care of, never wanting. They always had their mother with them, even when their father was away on assignment. Despite her father’s frequent absence Victoria loved and respected him greatly, knowing that he was a great medic in the field who worked his damnedest to save as many lives as he could. In efforts to impress her father and to be closer to him Victoria had decided to learn music. This art wasn’t practiced by any of their family at the time however Barty was an avid fan of music, especially that of jazz. Barty had countless records, and after listening to them for hundreds of hours Victoria decided she would give her voice to music. She had no arte herself… but she wanted to help people like her father, and what better way than to heal hearts with music? She searched her father’s attic looking for more and more records to learn from every band and artist she could. And one day, amongst the dust and she found something that spoke to her soul. She found an electric guitar, cherry red, that burned the same colour as her hair. She knew it belonged to her father but… She felt it speak to her very being. She was meant to play this instrument, her fingers were meant to dance across it’s strings. She practiced every day at the tender age of 4 working as best she could to learn before her father returned home.

On her 5th Birthday, he did and she was waiting. She had kept all of this a secret from her family until then, playing until her fingertips bled wherever she could out of earshot. Her practice paid off, soon she formed calluses and could play without causing herself any pain. It had been just under a year and yet she excelled even at her young age. Her performance to welcome her father home moved Barty to tears, so much so he decided that very guitar was her birthday present. Of course, she still received the gifts he had brought along with him from his travels as well. It was a happy few weeks, Barty teaching his beloved daughter all he knew of the instrument. He quickly found out she had long passed his mediocre skill, but that only made him all the more proud of his daughter. Barty would soon however be forced to leave, his new assignment imminent. Barty had decided his particular skills were most needed in the Volskaya region, one that had been known to be utterly wracked with Calamities. He had personally asked for the assignment for the unit he was in charge of [with the unanimous consent of the members.] to begin relief work there. And so two short months later, Victoria and her family said their goodbyes to their Father and Husband… not knowing that would be the last time they ever did so.

It had been nearly a year since Barty left, with little word from the fronts where he and his unit had been assigned. Until Victoria’s entire world came crashing down, reality decided to teach a harsh and brutal lesson to a young girl. Everyone knows the Volskaya incident, it is not much worth going over here, but it is worth noting that Barty was amongst the number that broke protocol and deployed despite their orders. His unit was amongst the first responders to the event as it unfolded, trying desperately to rescue and assist where they could. By the end of it all, of the 16 members of his unit, only 2 remained. Neither was Barty himself. The news was impossible to bear for the family… but it hit Victoria the hardest. She had lost the father she loved, the one that was the catalyst for her learning to even play music in the first place. Her emotions well up inside… she could no longer connect to the sounds of the music she had once adored. It was both too painful and unable to express how she felt. And in this despair, this anger and love, was forged a new style of music the world had never heard before. A pure sound that would bring forth revolution in its prime.

Victoria put her heart, soul, blood and tears into her music. The result of her feelings over the loss of her father warped the soft serene music she once played. Over the years each time she played her own psychic pain seeped more and more into her playing and voice. Rather than her soft dreamlike voice, she used a harsh metallic wail. Her father had some friends in the music industry, ones that took a powerful interest in a style that the world had never before heard. One such person was a close friend of her Father and a man she knew as an Uncle. His name was Hansi, and in her he saw a powerful and raw potential. And further, a means to preserve the memory of his fallen friend. Hansi had been the creator of Abyssian Blues, a record label that sight out the newest and most experimental sounds in music. He had formed it on a whim, mostly on a joking suggestion of Barty. “If you like these strange sounds so much why not give them a home?” And so, Hansi did. Victoria had always been quite fond of Uncle Hansi, and was more than willing to go along with his plan. In a matter of weeks a band was created.

Hansi pulled all the best new younger talent he could find at the time, mostly young men and women around the ages of 20 or so. Victoria was only 13 at the time, barely a teenager. Most of the members were outraged at Hansi at first, thinking this was some cruel joke at their expense. Hansi merely laughed, his only response, “Just listen to her play. Then decide if I am yankin’ you chain.” There was never a room more stunned into silence after a performance. It is entirely known how the name of the band was formed, some say it was drummer Cassidy Hart. Apparently she believed they should play up the aspect of how cute their lead vocalist and guitarist was. No other groups had such a young lead currently, and they should use that as their key image. And thus Lovey Dovey Metal Devil was born!
 
LDMD took some time to catch on, they often had longer songs, only capable of fitting a single song on a side of a record. Despite the complexity of these pieces, their ability to warp and change over their course, they were not overly popular. Folks were not ready to open their hearts to a music much harsher than anything they had ever heard before, and further were not open to the idea of a single piece being the entirety of a record. Records were expensive and it was expected that a fair amount of music was gotten out of each side, and people couldn’t accept merely 2 songs. It wasn’t until 2 years later that LDMD truly took off with a single that captured the hearts and minds of Belgor all throughout Eastern Rhienburg.

It had been 10 years since that fateful day, and the pain was still fresh in the people’s hearts.

On the 10th anniversary of the Volskaya Disaster, LDMD released a record of their song titled simply, Volskaya. A ballad that spoke of the pain many of the victim’s families still felt to this day, but despite its drudging and angry tone for many sections, that hope always remained for them to move past that grief and sorrow. The song immediately resonated with thousands, expressing the repressed pain and anger that had built over the years in a sound that many had yet to hear. The single was pure cathartic therapy for the souls of those most affected by the tragedy. Even those that were not direct victim’s praised the song for how well it covered the subject matter. Volskaya was the true beginning of LDMD, their first hit to top the charts. They would forever begin to change music henceforth.

At the time the genre they wrote in had no name, eventually it became known as metal. It’s theorized that it was in reference to the heavier themes and soundscapes that became common trends in the genre once it extended out from LDMD. Most Metalheads maintain however it is merely known as such due to Lovey Dovey Metal Devil itself, taken straight from the band’s name. Many believe as the pioneers of such a sound it is only right it is named after those that set the groundwork. Other rising bands even started to take other trends and cues from LDMD, such as LDMD’s focus on history and current events. Most strayed away from the Volskaya Disaster as it had been well covered by LDMD but others took the opportunity to talk about other such events in Parvain’s past. These songs lacked the immediate impact of Volskaya, as often they weren’t still within living memory. However as a common subject of reference Metal started to gain a reputation for its lyrical barrier to entry. Due to these deep cuts into history, the genre expected a well read sort, one that was familiar with subjects of history and as the genre evolved literature in general.

Now, even 7 years later LDMD remains together in its original form. None of the talent has ever felt the desire to leave, the band’s bonds deeper than ever. LDMD still remains the top metal band, never having left the throne. They are an unshakable part of Belgor culture in Eastern Rhienburg, music claimed to be born of the region itself. It’s influence has spread nearly everywhere these days, but it’s roots are never forgotten. Unfortunately however, Vicky remains in schooling, as young as she is. When she was accepted to Solrise academy along with it came a sad announcement. LDMD would go on a 3 year hiatus while it’s lead vocalist took upon her a great honour. Vicky declared that one day The Metal Devil Queen would return and so too LDMD.

Lastly, there is the matter of Victoria’s arte. It was discovered during a tour of hers one day, during the climax of a very particular song, Volskaya. During the height of the emotional chorus it is said that suddenly Victoria absorbed the full of the pyrotechnics on stage. The energy she absorbed poured into her vocals empowering her voice into a wail so powerful that audience members were literally blown away. The Band paid for all the damage to the venue and helped to get medical attention for all those that had suffered injuries in the show. Most would assume this would be a pr nightmare for the band, but it seemed to only boost their popularity. Victoria has since found she has the ability to convert other types of energy into vibrations in the area around her. She often uses it to enhance the power of her voice, capable of volumes no other Belgor could reach. It is something unique to her in the metal scene and a significant reason LDMD is still as relevant as it is to the scene as it is. They have something truly unique.

Bio: Mas'ud is the illegitimate son of the wildly successful Wyrm shipping company in Aethia. His mother was just a maid working at his father's estate, who he couldn't help but fall in love with despite their difference in status. When Mas'ud was born, his father insisted on treating him as if he was one of his legitimate sons, much to the chagrin of his wife and older children. Mas'ud got the best schooling available, and never wanted for much, assuming he was under his father's gaze at least. When they thought they could get away with it though, his half family was... Less than pleasant to him. Beatings of course were off the table, but ignoring him, giving him all their chores, and verbally abusing Mas'ud were all frequent occurrences. As such, he learned to prefer the company of the servants, enjoying the humble but honest company, and in turn they enjoyed the music he had learned as part of his schooling as well as his apparent use as a lucky charm, with more than a few of the men in the stables winning racing bets on his advice. It would turn out, that this was an effect of Mas'ud's Artes, which allowed him to predict the future, seeing further into the murky depths of fate the more he focused on a subject.

Eventually, Mas'ud turned 19. His father, knowing of his son's growing fascination with the mechanics of predicting calamities and also fearing that his rivals and own family would get bolder, decided to send Mas'ud to Erebia to pursue higher education at Solrise Academy. Mas'ud scored admirably on his test scores, even without using his arte outside of the physical portion. Seeing that trouble might come from his arte specifics being common knowledge, Mas'ud quickly picked up tarot readings, offering hour long sessions (to be able to concentrate on the person that requested it), and using his arte in addition to card tricks he had learned from the servants on the estate to pick out the exact right cards for whatever fortune he was imparting. That wasn't to say of course, that he told the truth about what he saw, far from it. He typically lied and instead told them what he thought they would need to hear to better themselves or just avoid a bad path. After all, Mas'ud knew better than anyone that fate isn't set in stone.

Bio:

A scion of the Chatgéant family, the line of the legendary giant warrior Tarv the Hero. A tiny darkskinned Felis, her family immigrated in from Kemet to York a few generations ago to get away from the Calamity-striken land. She has mismatched eyes of blue and green, a nigh-perputual pout she thinks makes her look fierce, well made clothes of black and white, and a small feathered hat. Cattleya ("Don't call me Cat!") has always wanted to take after her ancestral hero. Unfortunately, she's barely four foot six inches, turning her swinging out a greatsword into a oft-amusing sight... for those watching, anyway, as Cattleya finds it somewhat less amusing.

The Chatgéant is technically minor nobility, and Cattleya was raised in a enviroment one could describe as saccharine. She was born as the youngest of three children (sisters both). Her father, a warrior and swordsmaster, is a member of the Elerian Order, and indeed has taught in the training rings at Solrise Academy in the past. By far the smallest, she was spoiled mercilessly by her parents, and rarely had to depend on herself. While she recieved lessons, such as they were, from her father in the ways of combat, he encouraged her to take up a more suitable weapon, he had no luck, and the doting man did his best to prepare her for combat.

She applied to Solrise with her family's backing after long hours of persuasion, hoping to follow in her ancestor's footsteps. She did well on the written side, completing all non-combat tests with the ease of long hours of study. The practical side, she found more difficult, and gained just enough marks to pass. The unweildy nature of her weapon has meant Cattleya has only just scraped through her previous two years of Solrise Academy, and now she has entered the third year, determined that this is the year she exceeds all expectations and proves herself a true scion of Chatgéant.

Bio: On the surface, Clarisse seemed just like any other student at the academy. Friendly, eager and always willing to act as a mentor, especially under her role as one of the older students at the Academy. Deep within, however, lay a traumatised soul, often found staying up late at night, kept awake by whatever ails her.

For above everything else she seemed to be on the surface, Clarisse was a survivor. One of the few survivors of what people refer to as the Volskaya Disaster. The daughter of hunters making their living in western Ruthenia, she had lived her days innocent and carefree, believing that whatever disaster may come, the heroes and heroines of the Elerian Order will put it to rights.

And then Calamity struck and no one came. Storms raged, unleashing a whirlwind of destruction, and game transformed into Fiends, butchering their once would-be hunters, ...and yet still, no one came. At the age of six, Clarisse was forced to watch her world be torn asunder and hell be unleashed.

In an attempt to find shelter, she hid herself in a small cave and tried to wait the storm. In her favourite hiding spot, full of tiny, glowing gems. There, she waited out the screams and the sounds of destruction. Until, finally someone came...A man with the uniform of the Elerian Order. A man, she quickly noted, with sad eyes.

Bio: Born and raised on the Serene Kingdom of Marinia, Ricardo had been encouraged if not pushed towards a brighter and more productive future by his parents after receiving confirmation that their son was capable of performing Artes. While his family was already financially stable, they had plans to profit even more using their son for a scheme, modeling him into an important figure for their market and a symbol to draw in more investors. Turns out Ricardo wasn't very interested or focused on any of those things, at most he was only growing frustrated as time went by and he noticed how limited his options were-But thanks to their obsession on educating him on all sorts of ways including art classes he found something that was truly of his interest; music.
    Considering he already had little interest towards other classes, it got to the point Ricardo began skipping them to focus just on the musical classes, much to his parents displeasure. After they were warned about his behavior, they prohibited him from taking any art-related classes which led Ricardo to do something much more bold and reckless; flee from that routine and this prepared future they had for him. To hide his identity he made sure to cover his face and completely change his appearance, going from noble-looking to a wanderer from the more harsh areas of Marinia. Under this new identity he continued learning more about both music and bardic magic, but the direction he took with his improved abilities couldn't be further away from what his parents had planned for him; not only he was using them to play music for all sorts of folks, but also to rob them right under their noses. The son of a noble family became an outlaw, and while at first people just took him as a bard and that only, the amount of times people visited an inn or bar to watch him play only to find themselves leaving with their pockets empty.
    This growing "popularity" along with his choice of outfit made him gain quite the artistic name; "Cactus Bandito", both due to the shape of his hat, his guitar and of course his habit of robbing the audience. While this infamy carried him, there were people still willing to watch him play due to his...different choice of musics, with plenty using both harsher words and themes instead of the usual cheery and friendly bard themes. Unsurprisingly enough this resulted on the bandito showing up on plenty of bars full of other criminals to play for them instead. With this fame growing so did his problems with the authorities, to the point forcing him to become a full time wanderer going from town to town playing and tricking others to slowly a proper treasure. While at first he wasn't completely sure WHERE to invest the income he had been gaining, the perfect opportunity appeared after hearing stories related to the Solrise Academy. Not only it sounded like a promising place to sharpen his skills but also his music! Plus it was far away from his homeland, which meant there was a chance his name didn't reach their ears yet.
    With his mind now set on a proper objective, Ricardo made sure to somewhat behave and follow the classes as required-But that didn't stop him from still playing and singing some very questionable songs during both his free time and in the Music Room. Now on the final year, the Cactus Bandito was preparing himself to steal both hearts and pockets with his music again!

Starting Weapon: Iron Whip

Bio: Minor nobles at best, the Bryndyd's main claim to fame is the import and distribution of Aplhinite across eastern Lyria. One would think this would have them in much higher standing, however, due to the efforts of their rivals, and general mismanagement across several generations, the amount of Alphinate they are able to import has slowly declined and with it their relevance. Were it not for Seris Bryndyd, a Knight-Lieutenant of the Elerian order and graduate of Solrise Academy, funneling money into his brother's family, the Lyrian branch of the family would've been forced into bankruptcy long ago.

As far as the rest of the world is concerned, Avri Bryndyd is the only scion of the Lyrian branch of the Bryndyd family. However, as early as his childhood, Avri himself has been convinced that wasn't the whole truth. Unless they were in public his parents generally disregarded his existence, for one. Neither were home long either or at least not where he was allowed to tread, for two. For three, unless he was in his room, the maids monitored his every movement and ensured he never left the manse. Aware that at least something wasn't right, Avri quickly learned to play the fool. Smile and wave when his parents leave for weeks at a time, hug them both when they return, pretend not to notice how disinterested they are. It all became routine.

As he entered his teenage years, Avri began to notice more glaring oddities. His resemblance to his parents was minor at best, only vaguely resembling his father in the right lighting and not resembling his mother at all. Furthermore, even now he wasn't being taught how to run the estate he was to inherit, only general studies. It wasn't that he wasn't ready, either. Avri was sharp, having earned the praise of his tutors in nearly every subject. With nothing changing even as he neared adulthood, Avri finally realized there was no future for him here. Something had to happen, and he had to do it himself.

With the help of some sympathetic maids, Avri reached out to his uncle and expressed an earnest desire to become a Knight of the Elerian Order like he was. Furthermore, Avri insisted that he attend Solrise Academy like his uncle before him, to 'bring prosperity back to their family' as Avri put it. Although, in Avri's eyes, unnecessarily reluctant, his uncle finally did relent and agree to back his application. All of this was unbeknownst to his parents and would remain as such until he was well on his way to Solrise, a short note thanking them for their hospitality but not mentioning where he was headed.

Avri passed the written portion of the entrance exam with relative ease, his studies serving him well. The physical portion wasn't as easy and may have seen him fail had his Arte not manifested mid-exam. A flashy success, something he was all too eager to embrace. Let them say he was dramatic, at least he was being noticed. Aside from graduating, that was his main goal and the underlying reason why he'd insisted on Solrise. Many nobles attend Solrise Academy. If he could just catch the eyes of one of them, or just their family in general, maybe he could be taken on as an advisor.

However, he leaned too hard on his persona and became something of a class clown. Always acting overly confident and dramatic in his attempts to be noticed, many began to believe he was just a blowhard and began to view him as a nuisance. With only one year left before graduation, Avri is desperate to prove himself more than a fool to his peers.
