Turn 13- Advance and Setback



Thul Ponders Imbuing Mortals with Divine Power. Immediately he can tell it is fairly difficult, for what mortal could hope to contain even a sliver of divinity? It would take a long time to ponder this, for brute force will not succeed. 1/??

Jaanin'Maldaraak Observes. His lands are vast and varied, but first he turns his attention to the Wetlands the Swampmen eke out an existence from.
Jaanin'Maldaraak Ponders Weather, and crafting it with his divine power. The land does not have Weather, barely a cloud in the sky of creation. Rather, the White surrounds.

The West

The Tauri
3 workers scavenge for food at C3, finding 6 food.
2 workers scavenge for food at B3, finding 5 food.
1 worker researches the Wooden Spear, completing the tech.

Spiderlings
-6 food.
2 workers died of starvation while 3 workers went out to scavenge.
Those 3 workers scavenged C5, finding 7 food. Too little too late however.
1 worker prays to Thul for absolution. +1 FP.

The Zebra Commonwealth
2 Workers scavenge for food on C7, finding 5 food.
2 Workers scavenge for food on C6, finding 3 food.
1 Worker prays to Thul. +1 FP.
1 Worker researches Foraging. 1/?(6)
1 Worker is born for three food.

Summary
Death to the Spiders The worse the deficient, the less chance you have of some not dying.
The Wooden Spear grants Primitive Hunting and Primitive Spear Fishing actions. While not noted on the map, most tiles do have a water source, as well as game. In this regard, one wonders why Thul's Deer only drop 5 food? Well, that's mostly down to civilization not having advanced enough to get their true value out of them. And other things.
1 step forward, 1 step back. Or 2 in the Spiderling's case.


The East

Zastarn Bonekin
Four workers focus, working to research the secrets of Oracle. 4/10
6 split into groups of 3, Foraging F2 and F3. 12 and 6 food is found respectively.

Swampmen of Uudvurk
2 Workers forage the wetland at G4, finding 5 food.
2 Workers forage the swamp of F4, also finding 5 food.
2 Workers continues their ever constant Praying. +2 FP

Extradimensionals
3 workers forage at F7, finding 6 food.
1 worker prays. +1 FP.
1 worker researches Stone Gathering, completing the tech.
5 workers research Basic Stone Tools, to completion of the tech. 15/15 | Additionally, Wood Gathering was researched by the spare worker. 1/?(6)

Summary
Not much to say, other than congrats on your first tools. Mostly Advance on your side of things, though the Extradimensionals finally had a deficient turn. Except they also completed the stone tools tech and a gathering tech.

Jaanin'Maldaraak notes that 2 swampmen praying is not sufficient to provide a benefit. It may be more beneficial to alternate between 1 and 3 as opposed to doing it with 2; though it is unclear if 3 or 4 are required to make their trait anything other than a detriment as of this time.

Jaanin'Maldaraak takes a mental note of the findings about the wetland tile. There is not yet enough information to advise the swampmen to take a different course of action. An unrelated hypothesis was made, but revealing it now would help the western tribes more than the east.

The GM seems to have forgot to add weather to the Jaanin'Maldaraak spoiler. That would probably be fixed shortly. Gather Stone should also be added to the tribe spoiler as an unlocked action.

Unconcerned about a shortage of food for the near future 6 workers finish unraveling the secrets of the oracle, 2 resume experimentation with basic construction, and the remaining 2 forage F1 for snacks.

Thul, Purity of Avarice
Thul reconsiders this course. He'd thought to start with the simplest form, but this wasn't it. He didn't wish to lock himself into course for too long, in case his rival thought of something worth taking for his own.
Thul hoped that his deer would pay off soon, now that his tribes finally had the means to hunt them.

Ponder Basic Theory of FP. Just what was his power? It flowed through him, and he needed it to affect the world. He could do so much with it, but nothing without it. Somehow he couldn't get more on his own (or could he?), but mortals could so easily strengthen what he had. Perhaps understanding would give him the finesse he needed to imbue mortals.
