Swampmen of Uudvurk
Trait: True Faith
Tribe Total: 4
Workers: 4
Food: 8
Deaths: 1

(( It's alright. I know I'm forgettable. ;P ))

Through the jaws of the starvation comes the salvation of The Traveler. It is His plan, it seems, bring those of Uudvurk low, let them know the taste death, the sting of pain. Only then could they grow.

2 Swampmen, feeling that they are unready to dredge enough food from the depths of the land of their namesake, again scavenge the wetlands in G-4.

Meanwhile one industrious worker continues to divine lore upon the construction of basic stone tools that they may move on from broken fingernails and raw palms.

Finally the last of the Swampmen gives the prerequisite prayers to their god of ruin.

All while the miracle of life begins to take shape as three food is spent to birth another man of muck and grime.

Turn 8- Regrowth

Thul, Purity of Avarice, Ponders the Replenishment of Basic Food. Perhaps it is that simply. He pushes 1 FP as carefully as he can to see the effects into C5.
He finds the land accepting it, but no growth occurs. However, the plants do seem livelier.

Thul, having found something that does seem like it would work, switches to pondering how to make it work.
Replenish Basic Food's Pondering time has been reduced. Ponder at 3/5. However, let it be known that this action has also come to the attention of his opponent, and he can take advantage of the reduced time without any FP cost.

Jaanin'Maldaraak continues to Ponder, dedicated to his task. He notices his opponent's action, and notes the underlying principal of Replenish Basic Food.

The Tauri

1 Workers forge for food on C6, finding 1 food.
1 Worker is born. - 3 food.

The East

Zastarn Bonekin
3 workers travel into the rainforest, finding 7 food.
1 worker travels the jungles to the edge, finding nothing but a retread path where food had already been gathered.
1 worker rests as their bones heal.

2 Workers scavenge G4, their home, finding 4 food.
1 worker researches Basic Stone Tools.
1 Prays to their god, as is ingrained into their bodies. +1 FP.
And 1 more Swampman is born in ceremony, 3 food offered.

Extradimensionals

Thul, Purity of Avarice
A faint wave of self-satisfaction fills the realm after his discovery.
Thul feels his energy pool. Having power was Good. Perhaps one more expenditure to give his tribes plenty of room to grow, and then he could hoard it until it was time to create more deer.

Continue pondering replenishment. What more could there be? The energy didn't have a god's hand guiding it. Maybe it filled the air, instead of the land, for the plants to breathe? Perhaps he would have to denature it back into primal energy, but that seemed like an open invitation to the Ruiner to ruin things.
Create a river at B3, and 5 deer at C5.

Jaanin'Maldaraak
Jaanin'Maldaraak considers the circumstances of...

While Thul's experimentation did not escape the attention of Jaanin'Maldaraak, it seems that this god was not too inclined to try to imitate it. Manually replenishing the food supply did not seem like a good long term investment...

The foraging technology seemed like a logical research subject for Jaanin'Maldaraak's followers given the extreme importance of it. It was surprising that it took this long to make progress on it.

For now, the expansion of the land was the priority. While the Swampmen were struggling with food the most, they still had an untouched tile they could access so they should be able to maintain their population provided that they diligently collect food. The highest priority now was the north.

Jaanin'Maldaraak creates a Hill tile at F1 (-3FP)

Jaanin'Maldaraak ponders tile detail observation
There's still only so much flavor text you can get out of one research subject.

The zastarn bonekin, focused on their survival, spend 7 food to procreate and raise three new workers.  Two of the current ones scavenge f2 again hoping a second set of eyesockets could find something that they missed, and two forage F3, with the fifth attempting to mark a path southward to F4.

Swampmen of Uudvurk
Trait: True Faith
Tribe Total: 5
Workers: 5
Food: 5
Deaths: 1

Right back to their original size, the Sawmpmen, now realizing some of their prior follies, immediately dixtate that yet more gatherings of food to sustain their way of life must be done!

Three Swampmen head out into the river of G-5 to scavange for new and interesting delicious morsels.

Professing to know the will of their Ruinous Lord, one man of Uudvurk commands another to fervently work on tooling as he prays with the utmost conviction.

One worker researches basic stone tools.
One worker worships the great and wise Jaanin'Maldaraak!

Turn 9- Life is but a part,

Thul, The Purity of Avarice, continues Pondering. For whatever reason, his power can b converted to, speed the regrowth of edible plants. One would consider this could also be used to speed the regrowth of damaged areas, but right now it only affects basic food already present in a tile. Perhaps... Further thoughts can't really be determined from the current information, and his attention is drawn to something occurring on the other side, as a worker tries to plot a path south. It goes poorly. Amused, he creates a River at B3. 4/5

Jaanin'Maldaraak continues to Ponder. He also creates Hills at F1. He also watches as a worker simply seems to vanish, their life snuffed out by the natural dangers of the night. That mostly being poor night vision in an unknown environment, and getting very unlucky. 9/12

The West

The Tauri
1 worker researches Trap Making, while another researches Wooden Tools.
1 worker scavenges for food at C3, finding 2 food.
1 worker scavenges for food at C4, finding 1 food.
1 worker prays to Thul. +1 FP.

Spiderlings
2 workers Research wooden tool making. While it seems that doing so would need the ability to make them first, they progress in Wooden Tools.
2 workers scavenge C5, finding 4 food.
2 workers pray to Thul. +2 FP.
They are in danger of Starvation occurring.

The Zebra Commonwealth
1 Worker prays to Thul. +1 FP
2 Workers scavenging for food on C7, finding 3 food.
1 Workers scavenges for food on C6, finding 1 food.
1 Worker researches wooden tools.
1 Worker is born for 3 food.
Once more, they are in danger of Starvation.

Summary
Once more starvation arrives. This seems to be a theme of the dice for this side. Life is but a part, Death the ending.
However, Wooden Tools is at 10/12 now, so.. Though you guys do need food.

The East

Zastarn Bonekin
7 food is spent in the creation of 3 new tribe members, materials piled together to give birth to them.
2 workers scavenge F2, finding food once more, 4 in this case.. Not the best result, but not from lack of trying.
2 more workers scavenge F3, finding 5 food.
1 worker attempts to plot a course southward, only to find themselves separated from the tribe. This is then followed by wandering in circles with no idea of where they are, before night falls. They end up dying overnight from a particularly bad fall, energy bleeding out of their bones until finally they lay still, never to reawaken. Turns out not being able to plot a course or know the environment is really bad. So is nighttime. - 1 Worker.

Swampmen of Uudvurk
3 workers travel to the floodplains of G6, finding not much area they can forage, the valley walls being too treacherous to climb. However, they work together to find 6 food despite that fact from the floodplains.
1 worker researches Basic Stone Tools.
Another worker prays to the great and wise Jaanin'Maldaraak. +1 FP.

Extradimensionals
2 workers scavenge at F5, finding 5 food.
2 workers scavenge at F6, finding 5 food.
2 workers research Foraging, completing the tech. 6/6!
1 worker researches Farming.

Summary
Need travel, get tech. Try without, get wrecked.
In other news, through an unknown method, but thought to be knowledge from Jaanin'Maldaraak(other than the Extradimensionals), Forage Food has been unlocked. You have successfully researched breathing. Check it out in your summary for details.

Thul, +4 FP from Tribes.
Jaanin'Maldaraak, +1 FP from Tribe
