I asked if it was a Mollusc because snails are Gastropoda, not the only order of Mollusc, there are 6 extant others, and 2 extinct orders, which clicking on the link
Yes, but it's not just a matter of 'is it some other kind of mollusk', the question is bounded on both sides: we know it is maybe something that IS a kind of mollusk (snail), and maybe something that ISN'T (fish), so it cannot be more nor less than 'maybe' a mollusk.

Maybe.

When looking at the specimen, is a “head” area visible?
Has the specimen undergone cephalization?

Are specimens of this creature known from the Paleozoic (from about 540 to 250 MYA)?
Yes.

Is it the Tulley Monster?
You got it. :P

Spoiler: The Star (click to show/hide)
Tis a weird beast of uncertain lineage, found only in the Mazon Creek formations of Illinois (~300 million years ago, well after the Cambrian Explosion and its collection of soft-bodied weirdos). The delicate impressions give a lot of tantalizing clues, but have scientists arguing over whether pigment stains are indicative of a notochord or not, and other such nerdstuff. As a result, it's been variously described as a basal vertebrate along the lines of a hagfish, some kind of unshelled snail, a worm, or something else. The only thing everyone can agree on is that it's bizarre.

In that case, I can share with you that Tullimonstrum probably did have cartilage! So now you've heard of it having cartilage. :P

Shit I just looked at this one. Guess I'm out for a round.

The Tulley Monster looks like it's straight out of Spore.

Is it something to which the laws of physics apply?

If I understand correctly, nobody's really sure if that is completely the case.  But, yes, it does appear to follow the laws of physics (at least as far as we are capable of seeing).

A fascinating answer. Technically true of anything, but it sounds like something weird.

Is it a single specific thing, as opposed to, for example, a category of separate instances?

Would somebody who is not a Platonist (such as me!) agree that this object occupies a discrete location?
