Ah, so there's just one left. Well, I suppose he could go all out for a little bit if it means this can end quicker. Only for a bit though. "Seems like you're the last one of your friends left standing. I suppose that is worth something but I'm getting tired of all this and all I really want right now is to go take a nap. So, forgive me if I don't let up." With that a strange cloud of icy mist appeared over the cat. He tossed his ice dagger right into said cloud but once it reached its peak it stopped and was held floating in the air. Then several more ice daggers began to form within the cloud alongside the first before a swarm of them was made.


"Lets see how well those trees protect you from this!" The blades then began to rain down at the monster one after another with no pause.

The dagger hailstorm was deadly strong... but not quite enough. Having ducked behind a bush at first (which was swiftly cleared away by the blizzard), the goblin guard was able to avoid the full force of the storm for a second.

At last, the search party and Noah seemed to be safe. Or at the very least, the laughing and screaming had stopped. Seeing this, Carbuncle turned back towards the rest of the search party.

Then suddenly, the forest's relative silence was broken by a thunderous chorus of clanking steel, mixed many more talonsteps and kwehs than usual. Torchlight in the distance soon followed. A patrol was coming through, no doubt about it.

Heh heh, man that was too easy. "I'm just kidding little red, though your reaction was quite hilarious." It wasn't until he heard the clanging of metal, the stomping birds along with the light that he knew he spent way too much time here. "Well good luck with that. I on the other hand have to skedaddle. I'll keep you all in my thoughts... probably." With that a huge puff of of mist completely enveloped the man before a small figure leaped out from it.


It seemed to jump right into the tree tops before attempting to move from branch to branch away from the incoming patrol men.

Approaching from the brush, the patrol was now within spitting distance of the search party and Noah.
"Attention, citizens and travellers! We are searching for the thief responsible for usurping a confidential asset." The commander took a moment or two to eye the group, before noticing the child with a crystal seemingly lodged in his forehead. "The child there is officially a primary suspect. Though the verdict cannot be officially declared without due examination, in mine own eyes it seems doubtless. A 10,000 gil reward is due upon confirmation of guilt. We command you to hand him over, or else."

Eyeing the suspicious puff of mist, a cavalry soldier shined a beam of light from his sword, tracking the cat's location. A second, higher ranking soldier, staff in hand, rode his chocobo in pursuit, before casting a spell to subdue the unknown variable.

Letting out a soft sigh as he closed his eyes, and heard the sound of rapidly marching feet, taking it into consideration as he quickly thought about what he should do next, not even needing to think all that much before he came to the obvious conclusion of.
: "And do what? Go on the run? Take the boy and the gem on a grand adventure, far away from his parents, while fighting the armies of Coris along the way?"
: "You must be dreaming, I'm afraid you're on your own here knight."

We promise to investigate this hypothesis as thoroughly as possible. However, with current evidence, we have little reason to take the lucid crystal's words at face value. If and when the boy is safely remedied, we will be sure to return him to his family."
