I'm already voting for an airship tho.

I feel like if the person who made it is saying that it’s for next turn then at the very least you should respect that.

I know DB.

I don't really see a reason to put it off? The Empire already has weapons, and trains. What they don't yet have are airships. (OoC: for the record, I know we are going to pick our own teams. Kinda curious why you guys want to make something that is so, so exploitable. Break all the tracks and suddenly that transport option is rather useless.)

The point is to ensure we knock out the two things the gm requests we do as soon as possible, with max chance to fix any issues. Past that, we don’t have any train for functional in game usage.

It’s also nowhere near as “exploitable” as you think. Rail repair and replacement isn’t rocket surgery. It’ll slow things down for a bit, but we still have a much better throughout of supplies with trains. It’s also, you know, interesting. And since both sides will be starting with the same strengths and weaknesses, why does it matter that you see it as exploitable?

Ah yes it is so exploitable and bad, that's why it hasn't been the main method of providing for the logistics of large forces when naval resupply isn't an option since it's invention. Except it has, and for very good reasons :p

(And yes, the Empire has trains and guns. We don't. There's nothing in the armory.)

First,
Quote
These are just requests. It may be advisable to listen to them, but you are free to design whatever you feel is most needed.

(Second, because saying it's useful is less useful than my desire to see some airships, and maybe mecha, since those games died. I want airships, so I propose, vote, and argue for airships. The same way someone who likes trains would. I note that no-one has designed a steamship.)

Nin'd. See above/\

The above isn’t a ninjaing at all and is actually a point against what you’re trying to say.

(Given it's edited. Who cares if both our weapons are the same or we designed them after the split. Besides which, we have other turns too, and trains are the boring option when there are no real drawbacks to these phases. We both end up with what we make or fail to make. We could do a Ludicrous project for experience and suffer no drawback.)

It was edited to provide further argument against your nonsensical points, and at no point was it in support of you.

You have the largest hardon for ignoring the gm, whether it’s just a suggestion or a full on rule. The GM clearly has an idea in regards to what we should do before we start off, and if you’re going to ignore that then, we’ll, that’s just sillybrains.

If there are no real drawbacks then what’s so bad about the “downsides” of trains you were so keen on stating existed? The trains are hands down better transports, regardless of potential difficulty. I can count on one finger the amount of arms races I’ve participated in that utilized trains, and even less that got past the prelim turns.

I already stated why we should do the logi and weapon designs immediately, so please read posts before you raise points that have already been countered.

On an unrelated note, what does everyone think about landships?

Mechs are awesome, but I have no objections to landships. They could be cool, especially with legs.

A little incompatible with trains, sadly.

No, just make the trains the mecha torso.
