If there's a tie in the next few hours, I'll roll the appropriate dice to determine the result. A 1d2 if it's a two-way tie, a 1d3 for a three-way, etc., just to speed things along. I'm surprised there's this much interest. There's only a few more questions to answer regarding the planet, the amount of moisture on the surface relative to land, the roughness of its topology (smooth/jagged/somewhere in between), the number of its moons, if present, and your choice of pros/cons of the home-world/star system, such as mineral abundance/scarcity, a network of underground caverns or sporadic electromagnetic storms, and so on. When that's done you'll determine some of the basics of how life works on the world, is its organic chemistry carbon-centered, what sort of symmetry do they have, what kind of reproduction and locomotion are most common, and what broad spectrum of Terran phyla it most resembles, if any, which has no bearing on the actual abilities or demeanour of the species.
From there, you'll choose a spot on the ecosystem and the game will begin following the evolutionary ancestor of the species. This is because while I could give you a few choices to determine your own capabilities and psychology then jump straight to civ-crafting, it would be much more fun to evolve the traits you want and some that might be necessary or convenient on your evolutionary journey, before climbing your way up to intelligence with a unique smorgasbord you and the RNG have chosen for yourselves.
That phase will be somewhat analogous to this thread from way back, and when it's done you'll follow a primitive civilization from the neolithic era all the way to space in much the same fashion, albeit in a much smaller timescale, and determine what culture, mindset, and organizational methods they default to, as well as what technology might've followed a difference course from humanity's. Once that's done, you'll emerge in the wider galaxy and pray that whatever entities they believe in have mercy on them, or their enemies, depending on what kind of surprisingly civilized and reasonable xenos or death-world abomination that has no right to be as cunning as it is occurs.
Regarding the local timeline as compared to the broader canonical timeline, how that's going is you'll have effectively endless time to evolve, but when you reach a sapient state, you'll be starting at 15,000 BC, (before calendar, as you're xenos) and start ticking toward the 40th millennium at 150 year bites, giving you 100 'turns' until the 0th millennium, at which point it'll lower to 50 year intervals, allowing you to go into the galaxy at any point, up to and including the Dark Age of Technology, Age of Strife, Great Crusade, or at any point in the aftermath of the Horus Heresy. Be warned, the longer you wait, the more likely it is that the dangers of the galaxy at large take notice of your home-world. Game-over to Orkz or Tyranids is a distinct possibility into the 30th millennium and onward, but your region thankfully spares you the brunt of the Great Crusade and gives you some breathing room. I know this is all convoluted as all hell, but I think this'll be fun and I'm looking forward to it.
