Add in the ability for a dwarf to add/engrave a dedication to any art form (books, furniture/item decorations, statues, engravings, artifacts, etc.) to honor the dead and/or their friends or spouses.
These dedications could be ordered as part of the image spec. menu and would partially/fully satisfy a dwarf's need to be important; Dwarves/spirits with this need unfufulilled may return as different types of ghost depending on their values.
This way, popular dwarves and visitors might not need a slab at all, since all their friends have already dedicated their artworks to them.
Ghosts could also be redone to be less immediately dangerous: some ghosts could just be peaceful socialites, but others could be very mad/bitter at not being remembered in life. Some ghosts might even posess a dwarf just to write a book/carve a statue/make a warhammer dedicated to them.
moreover, these changes would make it so that mostly only appropriately narcissictic/unappreciated/rude/eternal-life-seeking souls would manifest as ghosts.

Will the game makes sure there's more than the deceased name on a work (for exemple by requiring the subject to he the main character of an epic or depicted on artwork), to prevent some abuses?

IRL people have books dedicated to them that are completely unrelated to them material-wise, so I presume it would just not count as much if the art isn't specifically about the person.
