Saro Ven. No wonder Katria had been willing to use its caged monsters. She couldn't think of a more dangerous meister to face down on the battlefield, except perhaps Lily of Damnation. Dealing with her would be nigh-impossible; they'd have to subvert or evade the woman if they had any hope of victory - and that wasn't even beginning to address the threat of flight or the strength of the army itself. And that means Doc might be there, too. Please stay far away from this conflict, if you can. She couldn't bear the thought of the woman being harmed by an army she was serving in. At least Verna should still be under bedrest.

"I can review recent combat reports if given the access. I might be able to determine what tactics they use, and potentially where they might attempt to use this new weapon." She belatedly realized that she was speaking out of turn. An inconvenient habit to resurface. "With your authorization, of course."

Yava
Yava simply stood there, blinking for a few moments. A shame, this turn of events. It seemed to be going so well too. So they won't help her until she helps them, but they don't even know what they need help with. She finally sighed, accepting that pushing this line of inquiry any further would only lead in circles. And she didn't have time for circles.

Figures she'd have to go on some elaborate goose chase just to get what she needed. Getting into the city and onto the ship had been far too easy.

"All... right then," She said, "About this woman, do you know what she looks like? Her name? Any details you can remember will help."

Estela
Estela had managed to recover mostly, and was nearly on her feet as Mirka launched herself towards her. She dodged to the side, trying to land a rapid kick as Mirka passed.

Mirka

Mirka gasped as the quick kick made contact. She hadn't expected Estela to recover as quickly, and now she was the one trying to scramble to her feet, trying to prepare for whatever the Major's next move would be.

Estela

A crack of thunder and burst of light signaled the kick making it's mark. Estela pressed the advantage, now; she had an opportunity while Mirka regained her footing, a process that would be made harder by the disorienting shockwaves of Estela's Holy Weapon making it's presence known. As Mirka staggered to her feet, there was another crack as Estela followed up with a rapid punch.

Mirka

Through the shock of the kick, Mirka could just barely sense Estela rushing towards her, and tossed a handful of dust into the Major's face before trying to snap out her foot in a piston-like motion.

Yava

Siren shook her head. "My dreams are never that specific." she explained, "A hooded woman brings a one-armed woman here. They're looking for someone. In return for our help they offer to help us with something important."

Yava

That's it. She was getting absolutely nowhere like this. So much for them already knowing she was coming, because that foreknowledge obviously didn't extend very far-

Wait... Kallisto said fate is manifestation of world's future. And If I am Thief, immune to influence of both Truth and Fate, past and future... no, don't tell me... but what other explanation is there for this mess?

The more she considered it, the more it made sense. After all, literally any woman could throw on a hooded garb and instantly fit the bill. And she really didn't know any amputees on this continent. Siren had never seen her coming because it was literally impossible for her to have. This was all just one massive coincidence. Dumb luck that she'd gotten on board and escorted right to where she needed. Yava could feel herself calming down with that realization. She wasn't stuck after all. Far from it in fact, this was the perfect opportunity. If she just played her cards right...

"Hmm... I see," Yava said, stroking her chin to feign deep thought. She let the silence hang for just a few moments, long enough to make it believable. To make it seem as though she hadn't figured it all out before she'd even opened her mouth. "Well, ladies, given current information, I believe I have identified true problem here. I am not one you seek, she is another. Someone unknown to me. But, I too have come seeking your aid for reasons my own, and I have certain set of skills that could prove very helpful to industrious pirate lord. Surely we can work out agreement in everyone's favor, no?"

Yava

Siren looked as if the ship's anchor had just crushed her. Her mother moved quickly, placing a reassuring hand on the girl's shoulder. It didn't seem to help much.

"Aye, we can find a way ta use ye." Theresa said dramatically, prompting a slight giggle from Siren. "But arr ya sure ya want ta be signin' on with a group o' no-good scallywags like meself? We won't be takin' it easy on ye just because yer polite."

Theresa grinned and winked at Yava, making sure Siren didn't catch the gesture. Her antics seemed to work, Siren was struggling to hold back laughter. An odd sight to say the least: A terrifying pirate lord playing the part of an overworked single mother.

Monika

"Saro Ven?" Monika repeated aloud, pausing for a moment as the information was processed, right before bring a hand to the side of her head, a small "shit..." being muttered. An army and flying superweapon she could handle, but Saro was something even she wasn't keen on taking on. She had never met them before, but she had read reports about their weapon... Specifically on how impossibly deadly it was. Still, she'd figure out how to deal with them. She always did.

So, brushing away her worry for a moment, Monika turned to Kirari, giving her partner a nod, "Go ahead. If you figure out a pattern, let me know as soon as you can" she stated, looking back at Cay and the rest of the room, "So, aside from the army itself, we have two main targets: Saro, and Neridus' flying weapon. I have a few ideas on how to deal with the weapon, but Saro is a more complex threat. Captain Cay, any ideas on how to proceed against her? I'm all ears to any suggestions."

Yava
"Hmmmm," Yava decided to play along, idly tapping her chin as if in thought, "weeell I usually don't agree to long-term arrangements without running couple of jobs first. But this is special case, so I can make exception. I am no stranger to earning my keep, though high-seas will be quite... interesting change of work space."

Mirka

Through the shock of the kick, Mirka could just barely sense Estela rushing towards her, and tossed a handful of dust into the Major's face before trying to snap out her foot in a piston-like motion.

Estela

Estela grunted as the sand hit her face, but she'd already had her punch in motion; it made contact and sent another shock through the subordinate's body, although the assault was momentarily paused as Estela wiped the sand from her eyes and tried to recover from the sudden kick.

Mirka

Mirka wasn't sure how much damage that punch had done. It felt like it had done... too much, though, and Mirka resorted to trying to push the Major off of her - not an easy task with the shock she was experiencing.

Eilyth

"I don't think we should just head right for the end." Jane objected, "I'm all for saving the world from that monster, but we need everything in place to do that, we can't just rush there."

"We have to rush." Allia said, "Things are coming to a head whether we're ready or not. Even if we can't find someone to fix everything, I have to at least win the game. I shouldn't have let Kallisto get away with winning over and over again for so long."

"We still need a better plan than just hoping we find someone along the way. Surely you must have at least one idea?" Jane insisted. She glanced around at Eilyth and Patty as well, open to just about any suggestions.

Patty shook her head, "I don't know. But if we're going to beat that thing then we're going to need some help. What about heavy hitters? Anyone know who would have our backs for something insane like this?"

Silvia

Mirala shook her head. "Nowhere here, we need to get this back to Katria as soon as possible." She frowned, "But we also have a lot more to learn here." Her eyes lit up as she remembered, "Oh right, what was it you found?"

They would need to find a way to relay this important information back to Katria, but rushing out in a hurry would cause trouble. For the moment, the best they could do was focus on consolidating information and searching for a way to pass a message discretely.

Lunete

With the hapless Shinko KO'd on her shoulder, Lunete was able to stealthily creep after the Katrians. The stares she got from the sparse passerby didn't impede her stealthiness, and she was able to sneak up on the Katrians just in time to hear the one with the fancy cloak that made her look like a wizard ask what her apprentice had found.

Monika and Kirari

Faith waved her hand at Kirari, "Bosslady has me looking at reports, so I can help you out Miss Spookems." she seemed to perk up a little at the idea of having help with the task.

Cay shook her head at Monika. "There's absolutely no way we can beat Saro Ven. Emmery says she could win, but that she'll be 'busy with the steward'."

"Yes." Emmery confirmed, "I will hold back the Lightning long enough for you to defeat Arrow."

"Emmery..." Cay chided softly.

"No, I will not speak more clearly." Emmery said firmly, "Not for you, anyways. Those who should know can already understand."

Yava

Malakai guffawed loudly. "That's what we like ta hear!" she announced. Siren giggled a bit as well. "Why don't ye start by keepin' me little girl company fer a bit? I'll go fetch tha quartermaster ta make arrangements. Tha two o' ya can even start tryin' ta work out where yer target be."

Astarte

Teya smiled. "You're no ordinary woman, are you?" she said cryptically, "Very well, I'll help you out. I don't know Ambrosia's current whereabouts, but I know who to ask. How do you feel about taking a trip to Perdition?"

Kirari

Miss Spookums? There were several reactions Kirari had been expecting, with varying amounts of dread and resignation. A silly nickname from a one-armed child soldier was not one of them. The response visibly caught her off guard, the former Dame's confusion managing to flit across her face. "I see." She ignored Emmery for the time being; there was no point in trying to suss out what the woman meant, if her words actually meant anything at all. "Then we should get to work immediately."

Lunete

The Lanican meister narrowly avoided an audible outburst, complete with a resisted finger-point. I knew it! Perfidious, nefarious, vile Katrian dogs digging through our records on the pretense of peaceful diplomacy. Ishma might need to play at trusting them, but I do not, not for a single heartbeat. And now I have been proven correct! These Katrian 'diplomats' are nothing but spies. She was still less than certain that this was all, indeed, in her head, and not being muttered to her unconscious companion, but Lunete did not particularly care. Staying more or less in place, she focused on trying to clearly make out the exchange between the two without looking too conspicuous.

Eilyth
Eilyth shook her head. There was Vee-vee, but uh... the current situation would be a hard sell even to her. She'd probably figure out a way to make the story sound less insane, she'd already been working on one in her head. But regardless if Vee believed them, the mere act of going back to request her help would put all of them under serious scrutiny. She could spare the time to try and convince a friend of their plight, but the fucking bureaucracy that was the brass? Another story entirely.

"'Nah, 'fraid not as far as allies go. Vee- I mean, Vulgara might help if I talked to her, but getting to her is a pretty big ask. The detour itself is probably doable, but there's way too much potential to get wrapped up in red tape if we go back to base now. Though..."
She sighed, still unable to believe what she was about to suggest. She hated the bitch, but she couldn't deny that right now, she was looking like a perfect candidate for the position. And they didn't have many other leads. And She knew she could take her even alone at this point. Having three others as backup in case it came to that virtually guaranteed her odds.

Fuck it, worth a shot. Worse comes to worse, we kill her in self-defense and move on.

"I do know where we can find another monster to replace the golden bitch: My sister Tahra. As sadistic a little vixen as there ever was, even more twisted than Brienne; she's a textbook psychopath, really. In other words, the perfect disposition to usurp Kallisto with. Though uh... word of warning: if we try to retrieve her, you guys are gonna have to be on your guard. If I'm a dragon, she's a snake; let her lure you in with that nice façade of her's and you're already fucked. I learned that the hard way as a kid..."

Yava
Yava simply nodded at the captain's suggestion and watched her leave. Looked like this was going to work out. Good, she could use a good turn for a change. Of course she'd gotten one from Sola, but uh... that situation was totally fucked, and she had only herself to blame. Still couldn't help but wonder how things would've changed if she'd stuck her weapon in Kallisto's throat instead of Valdati's.

She'd have to try and find out if the chance presented itself. She owed them all that much.

"I don't think I mentioned my name, did I?" she said, turning to Siren. "I am Yava. I've come here in hopes of finding seer, different one than you of course. She is... enemy of woman who sent me here, let us say."
