Mirka

Second Lieutenant Mirka wasn't sure what to think about the upcoming battle. She'd worked with Estela before, sure, but she wasn't sure how much substance there was to back up the flash. Now that they were stepping onto the field, looking at the Major preparing her weapon, Mirka could tell that there was something to back up the confidence there.

Only one way to find out what that was, exactly.

"Of course, Major. I wouldn't dare make it easy for you!"

Estela

Estela opened the fight with dropping into a guarded stance, and also by tossing down some of her metal stakes into the ground around her feet; she didn't have the speed to catch Mirka if she went after her, so she knew that she'd have to wait for the officer to come at her. Setting up her ranged option would give Mirka incentive to do so; it was either come at her or deal with the incoming high-speed bullets when Estela started punching.

Mirka

Mirka decided to try to get around Estela's side, her own spurs crackling with electricity as they boosted her speed, taking a zig-zag motion as she moved to Estela's right. She couldn't hope to get completely around to Estela's back, but if she went at an angle, she'd still have better odds.

Estela

Estela followed Mirka's motion, grabbing one of the stakes she'd planted by the neck and turning it with her as she went. Estela was moving mostly on instinct as she aimed and fired - anything else wouldn't be fast enough, and it still might not be. She punched the flat side of the stake's head, and with a crack and flash of light the vibrations shot the bullet on the end out at the other officer.

Mirka

Mirka leaned back - an unneeded motion, as she proved just a little faster than the projectile that had been fired at her. Estela's projectiles were fast, but not, it seemed, fast enough to reach her. As Mirka began to close in on the Major, she began moving in a zigzag motion, sharp turns at irregular intervals - anything to keep her from getting hit before she got in range.

This wasn't quite at her full speed, of course, but she figured there wasn't much fun in showing herself at her strongest right away.

Jessie

Jessie dropped down, landing next to Fairy.
"Alright, godgirl, we need to go." She tried to make her voice sound confident without sounding harsh. What she didn't do was keep it quiet. In fact, she was depending on... 'dead people' looking at her.
With that, Jessie grabbed the girl by her hand and started running after Hellia. She tried to be gentle, but you can only do so much when you're pulling someone behind you while running. At the same time, she grabbed a smoke bomb, tore out the pin with her teeth, and tossed it a bit ahead of her. She should be able to drop the counter-kidnapper in the smoke, right?

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

Kirari

"You're welcome." Miru let the hug sit in silence for quite a while before she pulled back. "The brass wanted Aia to fight Neridus for them, because they thought she was Kirari. Are you going to tell them who you are?"

Monika

"Kirari Arceneaux." Mina said bluntly, "I'm sure you've heard the name. You're already aware of the desperate nature of the situation and she made a point of pretending to be some unknown Lanican woman. We thought the potential for her help was worth the risk and Kali agreed. She's been closely monitored and not broken character the entire time you've been gone. I was starting to wonder if she was actually the scared little girl who happens to have a powerful weapon that she pretends to be."

Kirari

She remained quiet for a few more moments as she considered the question. This revelation had turned most of the factors going into the decision on their heads - not to mention her regaining her original weapon. Kirari still wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, and Katria wanting to use her as a secret weapon only muddied that further. "I don't know." She continued to stare ahead at nothing in particular. "I thought Katria would execute me if I did, but this changes the situation." This was unprecedented, as far as she knew. Her gaze shifted to where the rapier still laid. "I might not have a choice, though."

Monika

Thankfully for her sake, Monika was able to keep her expression fairly neutral at the news, internally sighing to herself as her 'hunch' was proved correct, "Kirari huh? That really was quite the risk. Not the best timing if she died right as I got back" she commented. At the very least, their hope to 'use Kirari' wasn't completely gone, considering only a part of them supposedly died... But she swore to keep Kira's secret a... Well, secret. Until it was forced into the open, her lips would be sealed.

Estela

Estela fired a couple more spikes, focused on forcing Mirka to close the distance; she probably couldn't hit her with her speed unless she got overconfident, but she could keep pressure on her. As Mirka got close, she'd stop trying to hit her with range, and instead drop into a defensive stance. She didn't have much time to think about the incoming blow, but she knew her way around a fight and had good instincts, side-stepping as Mirka approached and throwing a snap punch to try and hit her as she passed.

Mirka

Mirka zigzagged past the Major's follow-up shots, then, as she closed in, quickly ducked into a slide. When she got in range, she tensed up her muscles and lashed out in a double leg kick aimed for Estela's gut, relying the momentum rather than her weapon to provide most of the kick's power.

Monika and Kirari

Confused, Miru followed Kirari's gaze. Slowly, realization washed over her and the weight of what she was seeing became clear. "Oh." was all she had time to say before General Mina walked in with Monika in tow.

"I'll get the details one what happened shortly, but before that: Are you both alright?" Mina skipped any formalities and got straight to the point, an unusual shift in character.

"I'll be fine." Miru said as confidently as she could muster.

Of course, as fragile as Miru's mental state might have been, the real question on everyone's mind was how Kirari was doing. Although that question meant something different to everyone present.

Kirari

Kirari couldn't help but glance between Monika, Miru, and where her weapon laid before responding. "I am fine, General." It wasn't necessarily a lie. The healing had gone without issue, and she was otherwise physically healthy to begin with. Kirari shot another look at Monika, searching for some kind of assurance in her friend's face. "I can help prepare the report as soon as needed."

Monika

Naturally, Monika's expression was as calm and composed as it normally was when she walked into the room, albeit a bit more focused due to the news she had received, and only breaking slightly to give both Miru and Kirari a small smile, offering both a short wave before returning her hand to her side, "It's nice to see that you two are okay at least" she stated as she surveyed the room, taking in the state it was in... Before singling out the fact that Kirari's old scarf was no longer present. It would've been easy to just say that she didn't have it on her today, but something about the situation told her that it wasn't the case.

... Considering the fact that the rapier was one of the Holy Weapons left around, she could give a good guess on to 'where' that scarf went off to.

Monika and Kirari

"A report can wait." Mina said, "Much as I'm a fan of formalities, we're running on a dreadfully short timeframe. If you're both doing well enough, I need to know what happened here, immediately."

Miru tensed up slightly, but not any more than any other traumatized soldier. She wouldn't be much help in explaining.

Eilyth

"That's the idea, yeah." Allia said. Her eyes drifted down again and she sighed heavily. Although there was a plan before them, she couldn't see any way to achieve it. Or perhaps she hadn't truly given up on her revenge.

"That sounds damn near insane." Patty chimed in with the obvious, "How do we even find someone who can replace a literal goddess?"

"Luck, maybe." Allia said with a melancholic chuckle.
