Breeding Proposal: Blue Oni(Walmerian Forge Crab + Spruce Troll)
Conditions:Placed in a forge's kiln, these eggs are placed under a constant heat for 5 hours attuning them to Cinder. They are then buried in the forge's ashes, before hatching as the blue-skinned oni, with green tribal markings from their Bark linage. (ArmorSmith Dominant)
Appearance/Flavor: Blue Oni have small horns and dexterous hands, along with the mind and strength to work forges to produce armor and weapons for other monsters. They aren't really fighters, more support specialists aiding others. Obviously blue colored, with green tribal markings in the shape of crab claws decorating their body. Their intelligence should be noted, as making metal armor for monsters requires an, let's say innovative mind, and they deliver their expertise to medium or larger monsters.(Or at least, that's the goal.)

Since rather than hope armorsmith is dominant, one should make it so.

A support unit could be interesting. Assuming it works at least.

Extra Trait: No
Mutation: No

Result: Blue Oni
Element: Cinder(D) Bark(R)
Size: Large
Traits:
D: ArmorSmith, Loyal, Tunneler
R: Berserker, Club-Wielder, Heated Claws
Quirks:
D: Obligate Carnivore
R: Very Slow
Flavor Text: Blue Oni have small horns and dexterous hands, along with the mind and strength to work forges to produce armor and weapons for other monsters. They aren't really fighters, more support specialists aiding others. Obviously blue colored, with green tribal markings in the shape of crab claws decorating their body. Their intelligence should be noted, as making metal armor for monsters requires an, let's say innovative mind, and they deliver their expertise to medium or larger monsters.

The first Blue Oni great the world. Based on their already large size and the amount of births we have, we can estimate that they will grow to be Large size. It does seem that they have inherited the troll's ravenous hunger and need for meat, though they eat slightly less than a normal Spruce Troll at their age. Likewise they easily imprint on those around them suggesting they have gained their loyalty as well. While there is little demonstration of complex behavior at this stage, they seem capable of digging trenches that are likely to be smaller but more carefully made than that of a Forge Crab. Likewise they have begun demonstrating some ability to craft armor as the young creatures plate themselves in tree bark - it seems our attempts to get them to gain the ability to make armor worked well with their other parent's ability to utilize forest resources. Unlike the Spruce Troll, few seem like they wish to use clubs - their inventive ability tends to armor rather than weaponry.

Now begins the Training Phase. The war is ever looming, now is the time to make our final preparations before it truly begins.

So not much for direct war but seem suitable enough for support. Well got training idea to try to get heated claws back into this one for better armor support.

Training Blue Oni: Through noted studies done by our monster handlers we found ways to make Blue Oni have heated powers similar to our Crabs, they are be trained with their ancestors Heated Claws till they can succeed in doing so on their own to support their armor making.

I don't know if we can really do that. I'm fairly certain it's not that they don't know how to do it, it's that they quite literally can't. They just don't have the biology for it.

That being said, they've come out very well. I didn't even consider that they might inherit the Tunnelling trait and be able to dig trenches for us.

I'm a bit surprised of how good it went, but we will need smaller creatures to deploy at some point.

Well we could improve their armorsmthing then to cover smaller creatures aswell or work on our Glacial Spirit Quirk to make them more combat useful?

Glacial Spirit- Light Manipulation

Through the use of Ice, light can be focused into a heavily concentrated beam, giving them a powerful ranged attack. Along with their illusions to prevent themselves and allies from being seen, it serves as a method of attack that doesn't need them to be close.

Glacial Spirit- Long-range action

Training to develop their ability to attack others mentally and subject them to illusions from a far-off distance.

I'll note they are still tiny right now, it may be a while before they grow up to be able to craft armor from the forge and woods for our monsters..

Glacial Spirit - Quirk reduction
Using Rune stones on rocks that are slowly moved under their feet we were able to train the spirits to being able to leave the rune stones for limited amount of time and return to them for "Recharge".

Points out long-range action wouldn't require them to leave and return. More range means an easier time staying safe.
