Viable, Hard Character design. Flaw reduces difficulty.

Spoiler: Version 1 (click to show/hide)

Quote from: Character: The Phelps Twins
There are many stories where all seemed lost until some orphan nobody saves the day. Most are young and seemingly ill equipped to win those fights, but the power of Providence and story ensure that they always find just the right mentor, artifact or opportunity to see the job done.

However, sometimes that isn't enough. The truly dastardly villains require a special solution. The White Witch, The Queen of Hearts and Lamia all have something in common (besides gender). They were all defeated due to the actions of a hero from another world.

Our fight with Rafal is just as pressing. His Evil is just as pronounced. The Bookbinders are just as despicable. And so, like a well worn pattern, a hero emerged. Two in fact.

Callum and Annabel are 15 year old twins. They say they arrived here from somewhere called Neks Tor, where they were staying to avoid the Bliz. To be honest it didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it doesn't really matter. What's important is what they've done now they've got here.

Despite their age, they have settled into their roles as heroes well, with Annabel successfully holding her own against a squad of Bookbinder thugs and defending her injured brother with nothing more than a stick before they were rescued by the local Tales cell. Callum was then able to apply bind his wounds, steel the hearts of the beleaguered Tales when they saw Inquisitorial Reinforcements, and have Annabel lead them to victory. Even the Green Knight struggled to believe this particular story, as by all accounts the entire squad and the two teens should have been annihilated.

I'll note that for design, we should bring out the full ability of those we have in the Disgruntled Tales. This means we can totally do two Characters and still have a functioning base army.

I really like the Cat though, given it's tasks, are oh so drab.
We already have the watchers in the woods, so a bit of chaos and schadenfreude is perfectly on tune.

The Twins meanwhile, DB loves, so that is always a good thing.

I've split the Characters off into their own section for the moment. If you'd rather spend our regular Recruitment action on one of them, then feel free to vote specifically for them there.

Quote from: Kitsune
Foxes have always been thought of as spiritual, and so they are natural subjects of folklore and mythology, producing many Yokai in fox form. The most storied of these are the Kitsune.

Kitsune are mischievous but loyal spirits, and have the ability to shapeshift between human and fox form, bewitching those who seem them and casting powerful illusions to misdirect and confuse. They are well known to protect the people and places they care for, forming close bonds with the objects of their attention, even being known to marry those individuals if they prove to be honourable and caring.

Kitsune: Normal design, infiltration focus.

Twins Update: now a Hard design, though they are much more like the Narnia children now, in a good way.

I kinda like the Chershire Cat, and we already have the lore bonus acting in our favor. Chaos is fun, seeing what happens when their efforts are thrown into chaos more so.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Gotta admit, just not interested in the Twins. At the same time however, no way am I going to support us creating two separate Character units this turn.

Thinking of making Kappa's at some point, but that probably won't be this turn.

I can't help but feel like the Twins would be better to do later.

Like, when ever do you have it where the prophesied hero/heroes show up literally the moment the evil empire arises? All that voting for them now would mean is that they aren't the heroes, and they will actually lose, for somebody else to arrive later and save the day.

I managed to convince myself (with Failbirds help), that the Phelps Twins would best arrive once we've established our story as underdogs, so that they can turn the tide at just the right moment.

Skirmisher gear, or bringing out the natural talents of those we got at the start. I'd go with the latter, since then we can let the dwarves do what they do and make good gear, and let the elves unleash merry hell with arrows.

That and we are already doing the Heraldry Weapons, so bringing out the ragtag group's natural talents is fair and valid.
