Just had a thought: Are ocean bases a possibility? Either floating cities or underwater ones?

I may or may not have a mild obsession with anything and everything underwater.

Just thinking about it, it sounds like it would be cool to build something like Rapture from Bioshock but in space.

I haven't answered immediatly because I decided to work and implement it instead of talking about it.
The biggest challenge was to improve liquid hydrostatic equilibrium to allow huge bodies of water without burning the processor.
Now there is a way to detect if you are placing a building in or outside a liquid or to detect if it is getting flooded.
HOWEVER.
While it sounds neat to have a whole underwater production tree and buildings I wont create this yet and will leave it to modders for the moment. (it represents a lot of work )

This is of course just a sketch of the UI, the databinding needs to be done.
The moment when you ll be able to persuade the natives to build pyramids for you is approaching.

No problem.

I am developing the game at a reasonable pace (Always try to find at least an hour or 2 every day to work on it). The first part (the city-builder) should be ready by Q2 of 2021. You may have a look on it at that moment.

Any updates on the game? I can't see any on the KS page, though I'm not sure if I can see when backer-only updates have happened or not.
