You would have to get permission from the current owners to gain a share. It may cause some weirdness in share ratios, but I'm happy to use a calculator

Correct. A suitably sea worthy ship costs 10 Guineas. You can see above that Intended Improvements Co, Monkey Money Inc and Imaginary Productions are currently assembling funds to buy a ship. With funds from you and maybe someone else, you could afford a ship.

I see.  In that case, I doubt they'd let me buy an 11th share, since it would proportionally lower the value of everyone else's share (unless someone were willing to sell their share, which I doubt).

I'll just invest 3 in the Westploration, which now only requires 1.5 Guinea to set sail. Fingers crossed it doesn't sink, because having no money, favor, or assets would make it very difficult for me to continue playing.

Thanks to the funds provided by its investors, the 'Repeat Visit' is able to complete all the repairs this month, and will thus set off for the Nearsouthlands near the beginning of next month.

Captain McBeardly thanks Nagant Ventures, Mineral Co, Yearvent Shipping and Intended Improvements Conpany for their donations, then announces that the Marvelous Minnow will set forth for adventure and new found lands to the East on the first day of the New Year, so anyone who still needs to demonstrate their patriotism should move quickly.
