How to write?

Hi, what are the requirements for writing as an adventurer?
I've created an adventurer with reading and writing skills, and put some quires in his inventory, but the Write-menu in crafting stays empty.
also, I tried sitting at a chair or at a table: wont work.

yeah, with all the crafting stuff items in containers are 'invisible'.
