1340 AD, Autumn

The Advisor and the Treasurer visit you shortly after breakfast.

"My liege," begins the Treasurer, "my officials have done a survey of the southern hills. It took few weeks of sampling to even find any metal ore."

"Meaning?"

"The ore is deep." Explains the Advisor. "The dwarves probably had a way to find and extract the ores from such depths, but our miners and engineers might not have so much luck."

Knowing your ways around the minerals, you ask them about the found ores - indeed, it is galena, malachite and sphalerite. This proves the dwarves' trusthworthiness, at least.

"So what will be the exact cost of this venue?"

"My liege," explains the Treasurer, "It might take more than a year, mayhaps two, before we start the exploiting of the ores. These two years we will need to fund the miners and the equipment and the materials..."

"What about the Hurthlings?"

"We will dig only in few spots, far from local Hurthling hillhouses. They shouldn't be disturbed by our works."

A) "We need a source of income, else our Treasury drains up like an unattended spring. Begin the digging!"
B) "Too great of a cost, and too long of a schedule. We shall find another way to prosper."

"We need to get the industry going to start making profits. Start the dig, and may the ore flow!" The two statesmen bow their heads and leave to convey your orders to the lesser men.

1340 AD, Winter

A famous Damdamian painter, Guicardius of Mulvia, turns out to be one of the Martialist refugees that ventured forth into the Glennuaine in the recent months. The renowned painter is excited to call Glennuaine his new home, praising its natural beauty, majestic mountains and the (relatively) peaceful countryside.

"We could invite Master Guicardius to your court, Your Majesty." Clamor some of your nobles. "Having a painter like him at our service will surely give us attention of our neighbours, near and far."

A) Invite him to the palace! He shall be our court painter, and his career will be forever intertwined with our dynasty!
B) Let him live and paint in peace, so that all of Glennuaine nobles and rich men can enjoy his artistic services.
