My dorfs opened a petition for a temple and priest
After ruining the mood of many of my dwarves by making the temple dedicated to their God instead of their sect i fixed it and made it properly this time.
There is now the option to appoint a priest, is there anything i should know when doing so? I don't want to mess up a second time.
Also do priests work their previous jobs or will it now sit on the temple and laze forever? I am afraid of appointing a competent dwarf.
And one last question: can i put priests on the military? I would love to have paladins!

I believe (haven't tested this myself yet) that dwarves will speak with priests for a mood boost and priests can give sermons. This is probably based on the speaker skill, so of you have someone in the faith with that skill, they're probably a good choice.

They will follow similar patterns as tavern keepers, scholars or scribes. So if they have work to do, they'll likely do it (including military) but if they're free and not sleeping/eating, they'll probably be standing in the temple.

Oh thanks for the info, my priest is working properly, but i might remove some jobs so he can do priest stuff.
