Manager ignores new tasks
« on: March 08, 2020, 12:21:38 am »

Maybe it is not a new bug, but sometimes, the manager just ignores new tasks. There is nothing you can do but remove the tasks and add them again.
A possible reason is the manager is unavailable when the tasks are added, for example, in hospital.

Could be on a marathon hauling job too.  If he's weak, even a short haul can take a long time.

The manager needs to visit their office to approve tasks.

I know, I tracked the manager, he was not busy and there was nothing wrong with his office.
I removed the tasks and added new ones,  he went to his office immediately.

I recall I saw similar situations before (forgot which version), if I appoint a new manager, work orders stop working unless I remove and re-add them. Not sure if those are related.

This is one reason I unassign any hauling jobs from the manager, and make one dorf both manager and bookkeeper.
They spend more time in their office, don't have much distracting them, and switching from bookkeeping to manager duties takes no time at all.

Hmm. My manager is bookkeeper, chief medical dorf and tavern keeper and he seems to keep up OK. He hauls too when he's not busy trying to poison the visitors.

I suspect op is seeing a bug in the manager rather than a busy manager failing to keep up.

I've noticed that if you set an order and forget to add conditions, notice when the cancel spam begins, then add conditions to the job, they will be ignored and it'll always be treated as an unconditional order. Cancelling and adding a new job with conditions works more reliably.
