The door opened and the wall broken, the brave heroes could see that they were no longer alone.

Callimachus and Baruk were especially close to their newest friend.

Callimachus considered his dagger for a moment.

"I can't really do much damage to the undead. Short blades are meant for quickly disabling the living."

Giuseppina took in a deep breath, slowly let it out, and then walked down towards Callimachus and Baruk.
:"Um... I could hold this hallway, then... if, um, if you need me to.

Cal turned and gave Giuseppina a reassuring smile, even though Baruk was kind of between them.

"I appreciate the offer, miss Abategiovanni, but I'm afraid the hallway is quite narrow. Your axe won't be as easy to maneuver in these quarters as my dagger."

The scholar clapped Baruk on the shoulder.

"And if worse comes to worse we have a man right here who can ensure that any bites or scratches I might suffer will be of little concern."

~~Enemies Turn!~~

The corpses wasted no time in approaching, moaning about as they shuffled their rotten legs, and one of them even swiped at Callimachus!

Fortunately, the thief is an agile one.

Hit: 93-10-19 = 64
Hit roll: 66, miss!

Callimachus counters!
Hit: 92+15-6 = 101, autohit!
Crit roll: 54, no crit
Damage: 10-5 = 5dmg

Callimachus counters again!
Hit: 92+15-6 = 101, autohit!
Crit roll: 99, no crit
Damage: 10-5 = 5dmg

~~Allies Turn!~~

"Enemy??" Prince Aliberti approached, looking rather excited. The native archeologist was right behind.

"Am I correct that someone called for me earl- oh." He looked at the hole in the tomb walls.

"...can't be helped, I guess. Please restrain yourself from vandalism, unless necessary."

~~Player Turn 14~~

As the undead approached him, Callimachus remembered what Tomaso had taught him about knifework. You couldn't strike with heavy blows - you had to be precise, striking spots to weaken and disable before you could go for a decisive strike; from his own experience, that counted double for creatures like this that couldn't be brought down by normal injuries. The zombie lashed out at him with a clumsy swing, and he ducked under it while slashing through the tendons in the undead's wrist to disable its' hand. Still crouching, he brought his dagger around and cut through the muscles of the zombie's right thigh to further slow it down.

"It's a combination of luck, training, and experience fighting the undead."

The only way to put it down for good would be to disable its' other arm, rendering it unable to grab on, and then destroy the brain with a quick stab - through the eye, where there was no resistance, or through the temple, where the skull was weak enough to pierce. Readying his dagger, he stood to strike again.

Callimachus attacks Corpse H.

"We have the chokepoint here, but there's only two of them. With an extra blade, we could take the first one down before it can even react."

If an ally enters 20-5 or after all allies have moved: Attack Restless Corpse I.
