This is correct. Units can only produce buildings, and buildings can only produce units.

@Holy Circuit
To sustain additional buildings, a Generator is constructed. To use this new influx of power, the first factory is begun.

@Conflict Engine
The Commander is an efficient builder, and faster than a Fabricator, but it can only produce two buildings a turn. However, two Mines are built and they dig greedily into the Rich ore veins around them.

Turn 2

The solitary figures lay the foundations of their war machines. Soon, they will not be alone.



The initiative order has cycled. It is now Holy Circuit's turn.

FINISH CONSTRICTION OF THE BOT FACTORY

Also - the fractions for metal storage threw me for a second, since I thought it would be displayed the other way around (e.g. Storing 0 Metal of possible 5 (0/5))

I read it as 5 out of 0 stored metal available, thus, your stockpile is overflowing. I wonder how the others see it.

The Storages let you store metal between turns. If you spend your income as fast as it comes in you don't need storage because you're sending the metal directly from the mines to the construction site. (But no one ever manages 100% efficiency with that so some storage is good to have anyway.)

As such, with nine income, I can spend 7 metal on starting construction of a K-bot factory in A3, and 2 metal on building a Generator in A3.

Edit : Incidentally, have you ever played Total Annihilation? Because this seems to have been thematically based on that game.

Yeah, I'm trying to imitate the Resource streaming mechanic from Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander/Planetary Annihilation.

You can move then construct, but you can't construct then move.
