Simple fix to vengeful conflicts - Shooing away animals
« on: February 18, 2020, 07:00:34 am »

Buzzards and other such animals who like to harrass dwarves are a big pain in the dwarven backside, on account that they wrack up a lot of negative thoughts also related to being in 'vengeful' conflict with them and cause conflicts with trader caravans and animals, especially ones that fly up and down with unrelenting pathing to the object attracting them.

The proposed solution is when animals come to harrass dwarves currently idling or doing a job, dwarves will shout or otherwise make a shooing noise to them to scare them away. Benign theiving animals quickly disperse, and every other kind of animal outside of [LARGE_PREDATOR] bigger than they are will roll a morale-check versus how intimidating the dwarf is on account of size & intimidator skill.
  • Dogs and other such animals will also bark, growl or vocalise to scare away animals via a special interaction to [GUARD] activated when a enemy enters a certain distance, or when they are restrained out of reach, raising quarter if they cross a barrier of tiles close to them.
Elves do not shoo natural animals unless they are actively thieving, and instead can becon them to come closer in a friendly capacity to be patted on the inverse for a positive thought.

+1.

[NOFEAR] creatures should be unable to be shooed (or ignore it).
