"Look, Anna, the main point of my dark-skinned friend was that we are in a hurry. If you continue down the street, you might find people who have the time for browsing your wares. Because we don't."

Tomo glares at the Anna for a moment before sighing.
"The last time I bought weapons from you hacks they broke on the first swing. Either piss off or get out of the way."
Tomo doesn't give the redhead time to respond, preparing to just barge right by her.

"Our products are quality! Please, have a look at them! Please be assured we would never scheme or con people, and the insinuation that we would can be taken up with Customer Service!"

[Now Playing: Theme of Anna's Emporiums ~~Vordt of the Boreal Valley~~]

Suddenly, you are keenly aware of the fact that there are far, far more Annas than there were before. An encroaching mass of red-headed merchants appears from the darkness, wielding all manners of weapons, clad in the red, and spouting slogans about bargains, sales and the like; you can't even tell what's being said, with how many are being spouted at once, but the intent is clear; to take as much of your money, as quickly as possible, and to leave you as high and dry as possible. There are far, far too many for the Warriors to fight, even on their best day.

"We should run. Now."
"Agreed."

Evie let out a high-pitched giggle as she realized who their current assailants were. Virtuosos. This particular group of small, thin girls was totally capable of scaring off any adventurer or magnate, no matter how strong or tough or rich or powerful they were. Although she did prepare to run with the group...

"I can fight the forces of evil, but this is just ridiculous.

Retreat, warriors! I'll cover us!"

Xerxe took to his heels, but not before spraying a handful of cheap copper coins on the ground-it would give them valuable time to escape while the Anna horde fought over the spare change.

"Customer service my butt!"

Largo immediately storms to the rear of the retreating group before hardening his skin, preparing for the worst.

"I... I'll keep your bacons safe, but run!"

"Is that a request Largo?"

"More seriously, it's definitely time to go. Form up Warriors!"

Lagata's ears twitched as she finally--finally--looked up from her book.  Trying as she was to make up for hours of lost studying, it took even her keen hearing a few moments to process what she was hearing.  To process that familiar voice.  A voice that anyone who worked as a shopkeep for one of the guilds would naturally recognize from a mile away.  A voice that any of them would know to respect, fear, or hate in equal measure.

"Anna."

Mostly it came out to extreme exasperation, really.  But right now, that and hate was basically the same thing.

"No.  I am not putting up with this now.  Not with you."

The catgirl slammed her book shut, glaring out at the infamous red-headed merchant.  Much as she'd tried to ignore it between bouts of fury, she'd already been through a lot tonight.  But this?  This, now?  This, she would not tolerate.

"Why don't you go and... er..."

...Or, well, it wouldn't be something she tolerated.  If she didn't quickly spot the whole hoard of Annas appearing from the shadows behind her.  Which left the warriors both outnumbered and, economically speaking, outgunned.

"$#&@."

The tiny apothecary turned around, bolting along with the others--after all, even with her disposition, she knew better than most the damage THESE sorts can do.  But it didn't stop her from calling back over her shoulder as she went.

"Frick off!  They've already got someone to sell them useless crap!"

The Warriors (and Owyn) manage to get to the final street corner, a straight run towards the station....only to be met with many Annas barricading their path.

"Warriors! We gotta find a way around! We can't beat our way through all of them!"

Behind them, the Annas are only slightly delayed by Xerxe's distraction, the coins being swept up in the mass like a blob sweeping up crumbs.

In the nearby park, you can see a single woman being accosted by the Annas.
"This wouldn't be such a problem if you'd just sell us your casino! It makes us ALL money!"
"My dear, I think not. The Belleview is mine and mine alone. You can keep all your money."
"If you insist on a hostile takeover, Anna's Emporiums are always willing to deliver on customer requests!"

"... Okay! That's it! I've had it with these effing Annas on this effing continent!"

Largo jumps in front of the Anna crowd with a three-point landing, small cracks on the floor where his fist touched the streetfloor, slowly but menacingly staring at the Annas, before rising up and cracking his knuckles.

"You better take PAIN as a valid currency. And if you don't..."
"CHANGE THE CURRENCY YOURSELF!"

Needless to say, his Flight reaction just dropped the L hard.

:"Now, girls, there's a principle that I operate by that I'm curious to hear about your thoughts on. You all are pretty adept at it, after all!"
:"I once heard some Revivian go on about something called "gap moe". Now, this is some sort of strange Revivian language at work, but I'm given to understand that this concept of "gap moe" is that something that is normally terrifying or rough can be even cuter than normal cute things in the few moments where it is vulnerable and cute."
:"I'm working off of something I like to call "gap please don't hurt me". If you're already all cute and silly-looking, like a tiny fairy girl with purple hair in a maid costume, you're even more terrifying when you're terrifying than someone already big and powerful like Largo here."
:"Now, I do think I do pull it off. But you girls seem to be naturals at it! You're just a bunch of svelte redhead merchant girls, and you send entire street gangs and adventurer parties packing! What I wanna know is... do you girls have this down intentionally, or is it just a natural thing?"

She threw one of her balls of horrific hell eye powder as she spoke, because of course she did.
