Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Dwarves are forming relationships again (without special, painstaking measures). Or so it seems with my limited time in 47.03.

47.03 vanilla:
In spring of the first year, the original 7 have formed friends, kindred spirits, and 2 have become lovers... it's definitely working.

I have a master-apprentice form in 47.02 fortress. They have written books covering many topics.

Different thing. Master/Apprentice doesn't build up, I think, but is an accept/reject situation (a bit like petitions).

And beyond the starting 7?
The starting 7 have always somehow managed to make successful relationships with each other, it's everyone else who was having trouble.

It seems to be working. I ran a quick test yesterday after the release and saw several new friendships form among non-starting dwarves within about ~20 min of playing.

Excellent! Just starting a new fortress myself.
My own modded dwarf variation. More prone to stress, more lustful, atheists. Let's see if a fortress can get by on love alone. Bring it on stress system!

Interesting if the dwarves that aren't the starting seven can now form relationship without special fortress designs and special tricks, that's very good news.

Can you Tell me More about your Fortress design. Because to me IT seems Not much has Changed for relationships. So you Use Meeting Halls or Just taverns?

How much of 47.03 have you played? That's when relationships were fixed.

Yes. Dorfs should start making friends in your old save too.

They are still pretty bad at socializing since they're directly gain little xp from having 0 skills after immigrating if they weren't a special type of person (peddlers are very socially adept) in w.g, give them a year of mostly unobstructed talk, and they can speak to their spouses in the meantime and it should smooth over.

The marital home seems to be a good place for families to socialise, though

Well, huh.
Seems that all my "atheist" wild dwarves have all picked up religion from somewhere. Favourites seem to be the dwarven god of wealth (a regular dwarf god) and a human goddess of trees.

Oh well, visits to the temple will help with stress and stuff I guess. Will change my usual wild dwarf fortress design a bit though.
