[many, many d20s] Considering better of returning fire when in the line of fire, the pulses of laser still burning through the bar overhead. You instead push your willpower outwards, reaching towards those reactors-- the series of explosions cut the gunfire significantly, and you hear the moaning and whimpering of injured in the distance. There is no more laser pulses ripping through the bar now -- you move to take a brief glance up--

"One up." Calls the remaining guard, and you recognize Sarah's voice muffled beneath her helmet, "Seven downed- injured or dead." She shifts out of cover, closer to the wall riddled with charred holes. "Last one surrendering."

Emma pouts at you, lifting herself up from the splinters to look out the riddled wall. She leans over the bar, grabbing a bottle of liquor that isn't shattered. "Damnit Pheobe. I wanted to play too."

"Y-y-your paying for this." The bartender stutters from his prone position.

"Send the bill to SEED with Alphira's name on it." Emma retorts, shifting closer to the door, keeping to cover. "I'm surprised they only sent eight after you."

That... worked beautifully.

Look sheepish. "If I knew that'd work so well, I'd have left you a couple!"

Check the other guard for injuries.

Hm, is this the time? We grow immune to that stuff, recall, as we use it.

By the way, do you have a source for this?  I was unable to find that by searching.

Take a look at the scene outside.

"Don't move, cultist.  Get on the ground."

"I surrender! I surrender!" He calls, kneeling on the ground, hands behind his head. There's nothing in his hands, but his cloak looks very bulky. "I'll tell you everything! Please don't shoot!"

Armored vest? You question internally, as you approach the doorway to take a look outside. Seven of them are downed, three heavily wounded, probably going into shock, judging by the missing arms and horrifying burns down their sides.

Pieces of plastic are lined up beneath the robes, with scorched and burnt wiring interconnecting them.

"Please-- I'll tell Alphira everything!"

Probably.

Send out our will to force those remaining into unconsciousness.

[5] Your stomach protests with hunger-- [Caloric intake required.] Lucille chimes helpfully, and you sway from a bout of lightheadedness.

Hmm.  We really should probably just kill them all from here.

"Are you carrying explosives?"

[1][10] The man is silent, and you deliberate internally while Emma steps away from the wall to reclaim her seat-- and the explosion knocks you on your face. Your shield pops up, protecting you from the concussive force of the blast that breaks down the already damaged facade of the building. Your head swims, and you lift yourself up from beneath the broken beams--

[3 vs 20] A las-gun shot ricochets off your shield and destroys a chunk of wall, and you duck back down. It doesn't take you long to realize-- were it not for your shield, that shot would have hit you square in the back of the head. You stretch out your awareness--

[1] You cannot find them, and your head once again swims from the exertion.

Sarah is slumped in the rubble, a fragment of wood jutting from her bloody side. She's still breathing, and after a few hesitant moments, uses her cutter blade to cut the end off from the impaling piece of wood. She slips it back into her holster and picks up her rifle once more. She turns her head towards you, giving a nod.

Emma is nearby as well, conscious and with only a few soot stains on her clothes to show for the explosion. The barkeep is much the same way, looking increasingly shaken.

There are a few potshots directed at the building, and you can hear them splintering the wood outside, horribly inaccurate.

Yeahh, this is a good time.

Inject the ballistic.

+1-- deploy our helmet too, if we haven't already. See if Lucille can pick up the location of these guys.

"Right... this isn't fun anymore. How long would it take to call in reinforcements from here?"

There's no reason not to use it as soon as combat begins.  It doesn't grow weaker over time.
