[“I believe a change in tactics is necessary to avoid feeding the plague. We need to limit the use of infantry, go on the offensive, and attack points where they are highly concentrated. Advanced communication devices would be very helpful. I hear you have forbidden the use of such. [radios] would be a great help, as communication is important for war.”]

+1.  Also mention shaking up the current leadership of the Crusaders to get a better outcome and point out that the current strategy of attrition is not working.

"Currently, the defensive lines are shrinking quickly, and the Holy City will be under siege within one month.  Our manpower is exhausted and everyone is being drafted in a last-ditch, futile attempt to stave off defeat.  The end is near for us all."

"The reason we are failing is due to our use of attrition and human wave tactics.  By increasing coordination between army units, we can devise more complex tactics, such as ambushes and strategic use of artillery, that would allow us to win without expending the last soldiers we have.  We can also use the technology to inform us in advance of incoming attacks so that I may go to those sections in advance and defend them effectively."

"Without these changes, I am sorry to say that the war will be lost."

"I suspect that the Crusader General is painting a rosy picture for you in order to avoid being replaced or disciplined for losing the war.  Emma, also a high-ranking Crusader officer, can attest to my understanding of the current situation."

"If you'd like, I could meet with the Crusader leadership and determine why they have lied to you."

[18] "[Please proceed to the open hatch.]" You glance around, confused. Until a section of tiled floor creaks upwards, revealing a small lift. "[Necessary priming, Alphira, to determine fact]"

How much can we hide?

...'course, I don't see a better option right now.

Hmm. "Priming" sounds to me like a process preventing us somehow from telling a lie? Maybe?
