Knock on the door.

You knock.

A matron with greying golden hair opens the door. Her set scowls fades into shock. "E-ric, " she starts to stammer.

"Look ma', don't answer! I am not to be disturbed!" Eric's face is set into a tight scowl as he approaches the door and stops dead in his tracks. He boggles at you and his hand stays it's subtle journey to his ever present gas-mask. He gives a bow. "Mother Pheonix," He murmurs, crisply, "To what do I owe this honor?"

"You have a beautiful farm, ma'am.  May I ask what your name is?  Your son is one of our best, and I was in the area, so I wanted to discuss a few things with him before our next operation."

"I don't mean to intrude.  If you'd prefer, Eric, we can talk another time."

[King Zultan]

I feel like in the future we might want to encourage more agriculture.

[ZBridges]

If we survive, there probably will be a signficant nuclear winter.  Crops will fail and food will be in short supply.  Things might get messy, and farmers may lose their livelihoods.  Having good agriculture will be of vital importance.

[King Zultan]

If that happens we can always build some giant greenhouses and hydroponics things to keep the food coming.

[ZBridges]

Maybe we can use that, leverage our advanced technology to keep the Outlanders in line, assuming they don't have the technology to keep themselves fed.  We've been able to deter them with nuclear weapons, but now we will be much, much weaker.

[King Zultan]

That's assuming they survive the potential nuclear winter.

[ZBridges]

((That's grim.  I should've known we'd end up playing a Fallout game after meeting Doc Mitchell.))

((That's what I thought this was when the game first started.))

"Deidre." The aging woman offers, polite. She glances between her son and you. "Dinner is in an hour. I, unfortunately, didn't prepare enough for another guest."

Eric shoots her a glance. "As you wish." Is all he offers to you.

"Can you show me your farm, Eric?"

Do we have any thing in mind that we want to talk to him about while we're walking around?

[ZBridges]

I was thinking maybe we could apologize to him.  We've pushed him really hard, probably too hard, and I think it's taken a serious toll on his health.  I'm also curious about where he sees himself after the war and what his relationship with Isela is.

[King Zultan]

What about also bringing up the possibility of making him into an ascended?
