"Hive mind"..."Infection"... It's not talking about Plague infection! It sees us as an infection, with the City as its core! A growth from a seed - or a SEED! The SEEDships did seem to spread and act semi-autonomously... like an epidemic spreading.

We tried to purge the Plague, viewing it as an abominable ever-spreading infection. It seems the sentiment is mutual.
