You mean the armor keyed to McCreary? The one where we nearly ripped our arm off before VOID stepped in and overrode the controls with his signature? Its made for another 'line' entirely.

"I know." William replies, quietly. "You're more experienced in this..."

Is it capable of interfacing with our powers to achieve effects normally typical of another line?  If so, perhaps it could help us repair damage to her psyche.

If only people were made of silicon. Or if 'dust' was.

Deactivate reproduction controls.  Override: Patches.  Mission sensitive VIP in critical condition.

I̛̘̦̰̖͎n͢ ҉̖̝̭̪̣f͙̬a̰͙̭̜͈v̘̗̗̖̗̕o̻r͓̗̘̤̫?̘̲ The iciness of the VOID creeps through your limbs, the first cold thing you've felt in a long time. You hesitat, and slump down next to Emma. The world looks...blurry already, and you scrub at your eyes.

I don't think I've ever cried before. You note.

"That's just it-- I'm not. Alphira is."

...

"If-- if this doesn't work-- will you hate me for it? For all of this?"

Whatever happens, we'll get through it together, Patches.

I am in favor.

We're Patches, yes? That's Phoebe.

I'm sorry.

Patches is Phoebe.  We are individual voices in Patches's AKA Phoebe's mind.  I think we went over this before.

Pheobe is patches, and you are...Patches, but seperate. Pheobe is your identity for this world-- Patches is who you are. McCreary wasn't his true identity. Aren't your personalities a confusing mess you insane person?

William was the first for me. My father made my siblings.

"Does it matter if I hate you?" William retorts, looking up at you with a spark of anger in his eyes. "Does it matter?"

If we are going to do it, it must be done now, then, no use putting off something that is going to happen anyway.

Do it right and do not regret it, no matter the outcome.

William nods, and you lay in the bed. VOID accepts your commands. Silas looks worried but does as he is told, the loyal servant he is. Iyal looks concerned but doesn't say anything. You feel a rising fear as darkness overtakes your vision, consciousness draining with the blood and you drift off into--[1] nightmares.

Dark metal corridors filled with corpses, a twisting insect chasing you-- Emma burning you alive-- Doc Mitchell throttling you-- The Holy City burning...

What do you dream of?
