NEWBIE ALERT could someone help?

Hello everyone, I just started getting my hands dirty with DF. Its a great game.

However since the update 0.47.02 I have not been able to see the tile descriptions as I hove over them with my mouse.

I've started from scratch by downloading


This for some reason really bothers me. However maybe is due to me not understanding the game and maybe I've been using another menu to view these information.
Can someone help a dummy head. Thank you in advance.

Dwarf fortress doesn't support showing you the description of items when you mouse over them. You have to use the 'k' look feature to check the item under the cursor tile. You may be used to using Dwarf Fortress hack which enabled some mouse controls, unfortunately a version hasn't been released that's compatible with the newest version of dwarf fortress.
