The perks of living in a fort with 44 adults, 13 of which are practically incapable of skilled labor.
13 with the fever is markedly lower than average for this fort isn't it? I'm pretty certain its normal for the
majority of teh fort to be fevered. in any event they make for valuable haulers which is a consistent problem in smallhands that we can't really solve without minecarts...which is 3rd on my list of objectives for the fort when I can get enough time for a turn.
... Aw shit, Recon is in the military, isn't he? I never did make him a civilian.
She is, albeit part time because she's too skilled to lose. She was part of the Overseer's army, a reserve squad of our fighters that are made up of crafters.
I try to keep the player dwarves in a squad together with part time military training so that they can defend themselves if needs be.
Recon herself has always been a military girl. Trained as a swamp hunter, got injured on purpose and assigned to tavern keeper duty full time. Recovered from injury and took up crafting even while slowly but surely becoming an egotistical mainstay of the fort. Then dumped in the hammer squad for a bit and then picked up an axe, snatched Tholtig's body and decided deities are better crushed under her *Steel high boot*
its still a better fate than what she'd do to elves
I'd prefer if Recon was kept as a reserve unit. Send her on raids sure, she is a legend tactician, but not conquest as she's a named unit and thus might become lost to the world map.
