Jack nods and grins at the man, thanking him for his hospitality, before turning, kneeling, and cooing at the bear that had been practically hiding in his shadow.

Ya hear that mama? We got ourselves a room! Let's go git cleaned up! We gotta look an' smell purdy if wer'e a gonna fit in roun' tese parts! We'll dig that hole tomorrah, and roll inna dirt-- But tunight, we gotta look purdy! (Not that you ever don' look purdy ta me 'at is *chuckle*)

And with that, the odoriferous gentleman and his ursine companion waddle off into the lengthening shadows of the evening, and shortly thereafter, arrive at the bath-house.

Finding it unoccupied, the pair slip inside. It takes quite awhile to heat enough bath water with the provided firepit and cauldron, but before long a hot fire blazes where it is needed, and hot steam belches from the top, while the hobo draws up the bath.  Sure enough, the soap provided veritably reeks of rose petals, in a most nose-wrinkling and sickening sweetness-- Mama didn't seem to mind it that much, but Jack found it intolerable.  It reminded him too much of his prior life to be comfortable, and the woodsman fresh scent he had milled up suited him much better.

He locked the door, and took off his clothes.

Mama was chiding him, and demanding to know if he really intended to wash off all the scents they had picked up the past few nights, thinking he as crazy to want to wash them all off, just to smell like some boring old trees, and asserting that she found him provocative and compelling just the way he was. It was warming to him that she thought so, and he promised that his natural scent would return in just a day or two, but for tonight, they needed to smell boring and unattractive, lest the other 2 legged things get snooty.  He painted a picture of them being strongly territorial, and the less they stood out, the better for them it would be.  She could somewhat comprehend that, but felt it would be much better to claim their own territory, than try to skulk about and hide in something else's.  He agreed, but they needed the safe place to sleep for the night.  She still felt it would be alright to just sleep under the trees, like the two of them had done for the past few nights, but he reminded her of the violent day they had had, with the fast moving creatures that had hurt her face.  She recoiled at the memory, and he wrapped gentle, loving, and concerned thoughts around her--- It was better to smell like old pine needles, than to risk having things like that show up in the night, with no other crazy 2 legged things to help drive them off with.

Reluctantly, Mama agreed.

Jack stacked up some of the wood logs meant to fuel the fireplace up near the side of the tall walled tub, making a kind of stair for Mama to climb in, before informing her that she should go first.  He promised to be gentle, and do his best to make this as pleasurable an experience for her as possible-- He likened it to sitting in a stream or lake, just warm, and full of soft fluffy bubbles.  She found the comparison lacking, due to the far more diminutive size of the tub compared to herself and what she envisioned for swimming in a lake-- free, and clear.  He chuckled, chiding her that he would need to burn half the forest to heat that much water.  She accepted the joke, huffed, and timidly climbed into the water...

--------

It was hard for him to say exactly how long the two of them had monopolized the bath house. Getting Mama clean had been an... Interesting... event.  At first, she wasn't sure about ANYTHING he was doing, but after a bit, found all the extra attention very pleasurable. Pleasurable enough, that she tried to pull him in with her several times, despite there not being sufficient room in the tub.  A thick coating of sand, mud, and forest detritus had been washed out of her fur, the pads of her feet, and off her skin, and had lined the bottom of the tub after jack had finished rinsing her off.  She shook herself, and had sent water spray all over the room before he could wrap her up in one of the provided towels, and get her toweled down.  It had taken even longer to clean out the tub, and get it ready for his own bath, which Mama had found irresistable to participate in, given how much affection he had given her while she had hers.  By the end of it, she had changed her mind about baths, and decided that they were not that bad, but would DEFINITELY be something better taken TOGETHER.  She had practically slurped off his face as she leaned over the side of the tub, insisting on participating on his cleaning regimen-- before he finally got every inch of himself, and his greasy, tightly braided locks clean.  Much like it had with Mama, the tub demonstrated the degree of dirt he had managed to collect with just as much stark evidence, and needed just as thorough a cleansing afterward.

Now, Jack was seated in front of the shaving mirror, carefully teasing his towel dried hair into long spiraling tendrils that fell about his person like wavy coils of black wire, and set about pruning the wild and hoary bush that was growing out of his face with the scissors.  Mama felt he looked completely ridiculous, like the other 2 legged things-- and that his once glorious smell was now so much harder to make out-- He could almost go walking in the woods and be completely invisible to her. Jack pointed out to her that this was very much the idea, and that the other 2 legged things were very picky about strong smells. She thought it was absurd that creatures that could barely smell anything at all would have such hang-ups, but he assured her that it was indeed the case, before returning his gaze at the mirror.

She laid down on the towels, and rolled around on them lazily while he finished up the last touches of his miraculous transformation.  Where once his skin had appeared inscrutably grubby and indistinct, every scar on every inch of his body shone in the firelight, cascading across wiry but well muscled tawny ecru flesh.  Mama did not seem to notice though, she was much too interested in sniffing at the fur clothes he had tossed aside earlier, relishing how they were saturated in his natural scent.

Jack slipped into the regional attire he had purchased; A kind of green and brown plaid overlaying natural color linen, and brown linen pants. They were a little snug in some parts of his frame, and loose in others, causing his physique to seem slightly augmented in ways he wasn't sure would be appropriate-- It made him look like a bear of a man, squeezed into a human-suit.  He sighed-- Until he could properly launder his real clothes in the morning, it would have to suffice. He collected the discarded clothing from Mama, (who protested), folded it neatly, and then stuffed it into his rucksack.

He gave her a gentle rub all over her damp body, then unlocked and opened the door for her.  The night air was chill and airish.

Reeta follows the elf that smiled and asked where are we going?

The moon was now high over-head, after Jack had finished dousing the fire in the bath-house's firepit, and folded the used towels neatly again after mama's escapades of rolling on them.

He once more knocked on the rear door of the inn politely.

"Welcome- oh my, I almost didn't notice ya there!"

The innkeeper laughed jovially, actually failed to put Jack's before and after appearance together. The bear was a thoroughly deciding factor, however. Not many people walk around with one.

"Room's upstairs, as you've seen before. Try not to scratch anything, yeah?"

Laemmle proceed on her room, seeing the package inside. Before she open it, she go for a bath instead. Take her time dipped from the bath and later walk into the mirror leaving trails of dripped water from her whole skin.

Looking her reflection of herself on the mirror. Her recollection begin.

She was raised by the church, being an acolyte on her young life. Growing up with kindly heart personality and good skills of chores including cooking. Reading books was her favorite hobby, interested about knights and adventuring.

Despite the miracles she made back then, she choosen to be a holy knight rather than a preserve Saint. She was adopted by dutchess who served as holy knight on the country.

Outside the church, she witnessed new thing. Other races than human co existing as a dwellers of the country. Her noble lady life begin as she moved on to dutchess mansion. Nobility and knight blessed into her. She given a name of Laemmle.

As the flower bloom at age of 16, she joined knight for the unfortunate reason. Her poster mother who was the duchess died on sickness and passed down into her.

Living as a knight her knowledge about her country widen.

Other races do co existed with human race. Making the country have more advance technologies thanks to dwarves and wealth arcane power thanks to the magic divisions by multiple races.

The sacred well symbolized the country. The well give a life which is reasonably protected by holy knights which Laemmle deployed on duty.

The country is called as Saint Haven.

Depsite the combination of united races. It didn't resisted well the Demonic Invasion. On that time, Laemmle become a paladin as the age of 18.

Despite the combination of Flying machines and mythical creature raiders it still paid a massive casualties for their side.

Despite on land capabilties also paid a massive casualties.

Whatever how powerful the country that have, unknown threat will easily broke than the resistance.

By this situation, holy members including Laemmle begun to move.

Paladins lead the final assault with the remaining military units. Faithfully pushed back from the despair situation til reached the floating demonic main base.

They made sure land was all secured before invading the demonic base from the air.

Dog fights can still be seen as the holy members transportation heading to demonic base.

Witnessing their sides sacrificing themselves being a fodder to keep them easier to head into the base made Laemmle cried inside. Yet those burden gave her strong fate to fight inside.

Holy members fought hardest inside the base. Losing surbodinates one by one til reaching the lord.

The battle between the lord himself and fewer paladins took long despite light side are win by quantity. As the battle taking longer, paladins fell one by one til fewer standing. Lesser holy members alive, Laemmle made a miracle. Dice rolled by max and her first Valkyrie form took the victory. Killing the lord by her own hand.

Despite being called heroes by their countrymen. Those holy members who were survived including Laemmle thought the more fitting called heroes were the people who sacrificed to achieved this victory.

Saint Haven suffered a deep wound yet as the sacred well bring life to them, it will be heal back full as the time passed.

Laemmle was assigned to wonder around the world to investigate the presence of demonic activity. Spending her time for it for almost 9 months til now
.

Going back to her reflection. She cut her hair and suit up her new set of armor.

Jack beamed outwardly, while still dreading actually having to sleep here.  It was hard to explain why, but he had developed almost an aversion to sleeping in close proximity with other people, and the thought of sleeping upstairs in an enclosed space rankled the skin on his back unconsciously.  He was still grateful that it was safer than the alternative.

Ye hear that mama? We gots the room! he cooed at her, rubbing his now very clean and neatly trimmed face against the still-damp fur of hers. His words were completely wasted on her-- she had no idea what the cacophony of human sounds even meant, but she interpreted the tone properly, and rubbed back. He instinctively slipped into making happy bear groans and chuffs, before feeling the eyes of the bewildered inn-keeper on his back.

Jack straightened up, brushed down the front of his new clothes, and cleared his throat before nodding at the inn-keeper politely.

"Upstairs and at the end--.. You know which one."  asserted the inn keeper, with a bit of a raised eyebrow. "And keep it down, ye?  Don't wanna upset the boys downstairs-- Some of them haven't quite gotten over the disturbance from.. the last time that room was used."

Jack groaned again, but different this time-- It wasn't the kind of happy and contended sound he had made just seconds earlier, and was more an uncontrolled released of disquiet, before nodding again, and indicating that he would follow the inn-keeper inside.  He held the door for mama again, in yet another round of squeezing and tugging to get through, like she had done days before when they had conducted the investigation.

Walking a fully grown bear through the common room amidst drinking patrons was impossible to disguise, and the inn-keeper simply shrugged publicly at his guests incredulous expressions, as the three of them crossed the room to the stairs, and up into the mezzanine above, and down to the locked room at the far end.  Sure enough, it was that very room.  Jack wondered if the inn-keeper really was that paranoid of damaged flooring.

The man held the candle for them as he opened the door.  The light of the common room downstairs filtered in through the open doorway into the black abyss of the room; the shutters on the window having been tightly closed.  Jack once more thanked the man, and waited for mama to enter before he did, then opened the closed shutters, bathing the black room in the moonlight outside, before the man wished them a good nights sleep, requested once more that they not damage the floors, and closed the door behind him.  Jack could tell that the inn-keeper was being hailed by the confused patrons downstairs as he returned to his post behind the bar, as the sound of conversation once again filtered in passed the closed door.

He made a quick survey of the room.

It was just as sparsely furnished as ever.  A single twin-sized bed was pushed against the far wall, with a wooden wardrobe a short distance away, and a short, squat bedside table with a snuffed out candle sitting on it, were the only furnishings in the room of any note.  The room clearly had difficulty getting rented, and the inn keeper clearly had moved any of the more interesting furnishings out.  Not that jack really cared, but he would have liked at least a rug or something, given the clearly inadequate nature of the bed.  He wondered how the inn keeper honestly expected them to sleep on that thing. It was barely big enough for him, let alone him AND mama.

Undaunted, he resolved to find a way to make the most of this situation-- He had already foregone the notion of a comfortable night here long before he had even underwent the arduous task of making himself look presentable enough for human company, however brief.

The bed was a simple wooden frame, supporting a stuffed goose-down mattress, and covered in quilted covers. A single pillow was provided. He heaved a sight, then pulled the mattress off the bedframe, and onto the floor with a huff, trying carefully not to make any sounds that would disturb the patrons below. There was no conceivable way the two of them could fit on that bed without breaking it, but perhaps they could share the mattress on the floor, along with the covers, if they slept like they had done the past few nights, with her draped over him.  He could reinforce the needed softness to combat the hardness of the floor, by folding up the covers, and using them as added padding.  While he was working, the tightness of the new outfit was painfully apparent to him-- there was no way that he could comfortably sleep in the things.

He crossed to the door, turned the lock, then once more removed his clothing.

(I)Dont Like(this room/place/space)

Mama confided to him, as he looked wearily into her small glittering eyes in the pallid moonlit room.  He expressed his complete, and total agreement with the sentiment, before asserting that they needed to make the best of it regardless-- any terrible place was better with her in it.  She radiated warmth at his sentimentality, then plodded over to the mattress and sniffed at it cautiously.  Jack laid the clothes over the top of the footboard of the now naked bed frame, then crouched and removed his boots.  Mama sniffed at his back, shoulders, and hair while he worked, breathing heavy gusts of air over his exposed skin. She was clearly put off by the lack of familiarity the experience was affording her, and it pained him.  Hesitantly, he reached into his rucksack, and pulled out his fur pants, and tossed them onto the mattress.

For you(my love). (It is still, and always will be me.)

She snorted at the pants, then laid her head down on them, and made a soft chuffing noise, and he knew he had made the right call.

He drew up to the window, and closed the shutters once more, filling the room with deep blackness, except where the moonlight managed to sneak past the shutters, and the firelight from the common room managed to peek in from under the door. It took several moments for his eye to adjust to the gloom enough for him to make it to the bed.  He met mama on the fluffy mattress, nuzzled her, and collected the pants.  She stood, and allowed him to slip underneath of her.  He laid on his back, and draped the fuzzy pair of trousers over his chest and shoulder, where mama would lay her head, then felt her warm heavy girth bear down on him, squishing him into the mattress against the hard wood floor.

It was a far cry from a soft bed of leaves that permitted some degree of easy turning and movement, but it would do.

Barely.

"Glad to be out of the forest for a bit."
Burt then went to the blacksmith to see if he got in anything new sense they left.

The blacksmith greets Burt as he enters. "Good ta see you've returned safely from the forest! Hope you had some luck findin' whats causin' all this chaos."

There are a few new items for sale in the smithy: Switchblade, Voulge, and Light Crossbow. ((View shops here))

After the business with other adventurers has been concluded, The Guild Master cordially invited Edwarg to have seat before continuing their conversation.

"Yes, the officials in the capital informed my organization about your problem, and turns out we already have... matters that needs to be resolved in this area. You might already met one of my associates. Goes by the name of Linea Starboard. An archer, female, and I don't think I need to further elaborate her appearance." Edwarg let out an hearty laugh before fishing a roll of paper from one of his pouches along with a small, tubular writing device with integrated ink and ballpoint tip.

"Anyway, I am sure you are a busy man, so I wont take your time any longer than necessery. I will need you to sign this paper, it is to affirm that your guild has authorized our presence in this town and acknowledged our arrival."

Edwarg pointed the space where names and signature are to be filled before giving the ballpoint to Aven

"You are encouraged to read the contract before signing it, Master Aven."

Aven carefully studies the document, with a slightly concerned expression.

"This is... hmmm... an odd requisition, I must say. So you work alongside the governments in the capital? I'm a little surprised that they've taken an interest in our problem, but also rather relieved."

He finishes looking over the document; the wording is a bit unfamiliar to him but he can make out its general meaning, and it doesn't seem to be in violation of anything.

"Very well Mr. Snewden, I can sign this document."

"I should inform you though, I am not exactly the headmaster of my guild, rather its operations manager. The headmaster would be Xanios. However it is part of my job to handle matters pertaining to public relations and legalities for the company. If you'd like to inquire further about our company overall, please do see Xanios, I am sure he would be interested to know more about your organization as well. I will also let him know about our meeting."

With that, Aven signs the document and hands it back to Edwarg.

Laemmle go out of her room with an appearance of nobility from het hairstyle and knight within her etching armor. The cape is blue and represent the emblem of Saint Haven.

She head to the church and still mourn for people who sacrifice their lives from the battle on her recollection by her prayers. Kneeling down at the front of the altar. A light from the altar shine into her as she still on prayers.

The ironclad slayer made jogged around the perimeter of Mystville scanning if there are greenskin activity while he was around, besides that, he is also testing if the gambeson he bought is compatible with his makeshift armor. After doing high interval intense training for a few minutes, he stopped at his usual spot surrounded by traps.

"This gambeson *pants* is really *pants* adding weight to my *pants* armor *pants* but I guess it will do *pants*"

The slayer sat down and rested there for a while, wondering if he improved and when will the WAARGGH will come to this village. Surely killing the mechanical goblin guarding the tower will send a strong message to the warboss. The slayer thought, all he has to do is wait till comes.

"I hate waiting!"
