You should give them a cup of coffee some time on a cold day. Or tea or whatever, I don't know if Mormons are among those who count coffee among the "do no drug" rule.

They used to, but the necessity of caffeine pervaded their temples and the rule got altered slightly. ...I don't remember how, though. I think it might be "don't drink hot caffeine", or "caffeine with sugar", or something equally smart.

EDIT: Just checked, it was a full han, until the church bought a significant number of shares in Coca-Cola. Now Coke is okay, but not coffee.

No idea about JW's though, they've got their own fundie laws.

I checked too, and Coke was never actually banned. There are two separate mechanisms at work here: "hot drinks" are specifically banned in Mormon canon, but that has always referred specifically to tea and coffee. That has sometimes been understood by individual Mormons to mean caffeinated drinks in general, and there is a general warning against the recreational use of habit-forming substances in ways likely to create dependency, but drinking cola has never been regarded as a violation of the covenants.

Also, the LDS church doesn't show up on Coke's list of institutional stockholders.

The Mormons do enough terrible and wacky things without us needing to invent more of them.

Some of y'all may appreciate this writer, Chrissy Stroop, and some of her compatriots.
