I have a fort that is doing surprisingly well. I have built an obsidian farm and have lots of obsidian showing in my stocks screen. For some reason though I cannot select obsidian to build with, either in masons or building walls. I am using quantum stockpiles and it looks like every other stone is fine, it's just obsidian.

Any ideas?

Probably because it's been classified as an economic stone.

Sure thing, it's happened to me twice after a long break between plays where I forgot about it.

I'd turn the obsidian into blocks instead of building with stone. 4 blocks per stone plus its worth more, lighter, trains the mason.
In the manager I'd make a condition from product, something like, construct obsidian blocks x 5 if amount obsidian blocks are less than 40.

q 'construct rock blocks' 5 d 'obsidian' c p n '40' then press q till it says less than.
