How do I copy/paste dig designation?

Im trying to find tin to smelt bronze (my embark is seemingly devoid of iron), and im wondering if there was a way to copy/paste the dig designation so I could create mining levels easier.

Theres gui/stamper in dfhack. Or linked here if you want later versions/are playing on pre-inclusion version.

You can also set up a macro to dig a certain pattern.  Macros can be called to run any number of times (like 56 times in a row) so if you made a small repeating pattern, you could easily apply it to big or small spaces as needed.  The wiki has good info on exactly how macros work.
