B
You draw your sword. It keens dreadfully thru the air. The bandits with enough wits about them recognize the sound of their doom.
“As your King, as a man, I pronounce judgement over your crimes.”
The Bandit Lord climbs to his feet. His eyes remain a baleful red.
“You are no King of mine,” he growls, his voice the sound of stone grinding against stone.
You shrug, “You will die just the same.”
You leap at each other in the same instant. Your sword sings out, cutting through the air, but the bandit twists through the air impossibly quick. You both land and turn. His axe whistles through the air. You grab it midswing, bringing it to a sudden halt. He grunts in surprise, but quickly abandons the axe and unleashes a flurry of blows to your body. You take them all before you plunge your sword deep in his chest. He stumbles to his knees as you take the sword out and survey the stunned onlookers.
“Your time of captivity is over. It is time to Rise!”
With that you spring into action, your blade a blur as it cuts down bandit after bandit. The captive women and children find new strength in themselves, and they cut down the worst offenders and prevent any escape from justice.
In a few minutes it’s all over, and you direct them to take what stolen loot they can from the encampment. Inside the main tent, however, an orb rests on a pedestal, glowing a dark red.
