The FedCom Griffin and the Crows arrived first, at the same time as the PDF’s air cover. While Tengu focused on air to air combat, his wing mates cleared their wing racks by the simple expedient of bombing some militia forces to dust.
Tengu takes a pounding from the Bat Hawk’s rocket pods, but damages all three militia fighters in return, though since he didn’t concentrate his firepower, none of them are downed. Serrano’s bombing run destroys a Maxim, with the follow up bombs killing the squad that it was carrying. His momentum carries him out of the fight, while the other two continue their strikes against the militia forces.
Meanwhile, Wind and the Ostroc have arrived, along with the slower militia forces. Knave and Ragu will be close behind.
With the rest of the Kings on the field, the PDF’s withdrawal turns into a disorderly rout, not aided in the least by the continued strikes from the Crows.
The Guardian goes down to the rear SRM rack on the Shilone, and the Kings continue to plow forward, taking out a Vindicator in the first moments of fighting.
Three light tanks are next on the list, failing to fall back in time as the Kings advance towards them.
The Liao ‘Mechs fall back into the town, but it will only provide temporary salvation.
Continued air strikes are preventing the Liao forces from breaking out of town to the north, and the Kings are steadily catching up with the PDF units.
A damaged Phoenix Hawk and Griffin supported by a still pristine Stinger are forced to flee the town with the Kings close behind.
Disaster strikes – anti-air fire sends Tengu’s Rapier out of control, and he is forced to punch out just before his fighter augers into the ground.
Combined fire from the Kings down the Phoenix Hawk, with Knave scoring the kill shots as he carves out its gyro. Their next target is the Stinger, while the Brotherhood’s Ironsides makes a pass at the rear of the retreating Griffin.
Knave downs the Stinger with a precise shot of his large laser, leaving the Griffin as the last PDF force on the battlefield. Sadly, it manages to retreat from the battlefield, damaged but intact.
