What about walking to our left does that get us closer to the stick, if not try walking to our right.

(?)You move to your left, and you're further to the right. You move to the right, and you're closer to the stick.

...This is confusing.

We're almost certainly still under the influence of whatever drug we took. Until we shake it off, I doubt we're getting anywhere.

Lie down for a bit. Try to gather our senses.
Consider seeking out some spiritual experiences while we're at it. We did take this drug for a reason, after all...

Try climbing one of the trees
Forwards is backwards. To do this, you would have to climb a tree backwards.

Are you sure you want to try this?

Backwards it is.
Instead of trying to go pick up a stick, try to throw one away. Yes, the one not in our hand.

Consider seeking out some spiritual experiences while we're at it. We did take this drug for a reason, after all...
Willing to try the "normal" way first, but . . .
Under the circumstances I wonder if we need to scrunch up our eyes, plug our ears, and shout, "Nananana, I'm not listening to you, spirits."

What about asking the spirits what they are telling us?

I'm thinking that we have to do the opposite to get the answers we really want.

(6)You awkwardly lie down and begin focusing on what's real. You feel a sense of sudden clarity, as things fade back into focus and you see normally-ish for the first time. You move you hand forward, and it does what it's supposed to.

...Why does your head feel so heavy and numb? That doesn't seem right.

You're still in the forest, by the way. You can just move properly now.

Lets look around and see if we can see the mountain from where we are, then head towards it.
