Alex slammed his fist on the ground soon after being downed by the Emperor, but the subsequent attempt to push upwards into a standing position failed.

:"F-fah, damn!"
For a moment, it seemed like Alex was actually going to make it through the barrage of magical attacks from these summoned foes, but the last one had been a profoundly powerful strike, coursing through his armor and scorching much of his body. If he'd had his helmet on his face probably would've been charred too, but he had at least been lucky enough to avoid that.

At least he could be satisfied with the fact that there had been no more magical ire remaining to strike his allies. Actually, that was something he was very proud of, he found.
