Iris heard Alexander begin to slowly shamble his way to their position, sounding like an avalanche of dining ware falling down a stairway. A fraction of a memory tickled the back of her mind, sending a tendril of annoyance through her. But she could not trace the source of the feeling.

Alex frowned as his gaze settled on the smaller of the two archers went down -- looking at the teenage girl lying bleeding on the ground, something twinged in Alex (even if he wasn't wholly sure why; he got the feeling that allies getting this wounded was always upsetting, but also that this was more than even that). He sighed.
:"Hold on over there -- I'm on my way!"

Something a bit heavier was required to get through that armor. Transferring his quarterstaff to his left hand, Vahn drew his mace with his right.

"You'll go no further down this path, dead one."


Vahn to O-20 and introduce Bone Warrior D's skull to the business end of his Steel Mace.

Vahn struck the dead soldier a mighty blow, knocking its helmet off as well as its jawbone. The undead responded by impaling him through the stomach - but the old man's body responded on its own, completely ignoring the pain and bringing the mace back around in a furious downward strike that shattered the skull completely and dropped the warrior. With a grunt, he leaned the staff against his shoulder and grabbed the spear, then pulled it out and threw it aside.

...For some reason I have the distinct impression that is not the first time I've done something like that.

He wiped the blood away with the back of his hand and renewed his stance, whirling his mace around idly at his side to keep the momentum going.

"Come, then, and meet your ally's fate if you dare."

Not that these creatures were likely to understand his words, but presenting a strong front helped keep morale up for allies as well as demoralizing foes. He remembered that much.
