You successfully infiltrate Red Sands. It seems they aren't that heavily armed.. they borrow heavy equipment for show, but mostly they have conventional anti-infantry PMC gear. They also have a lot of police-style equipment and body armour, but looking at it it seems to be no more effective than conventional gear.
They do some more snooping around, and eventually your team gets the skinny on their research programs. The results are mostly disappointing.. there is some work on armoured trucks and special technicals, but it's been slow and ineffective. The conclusion is that their research project exists for the purpose of enriching the organizers rather than producing anti-kaiju weaponry. There is nothing in their program that would be useful to you.
Unfortunately, they are caught and forced to exfiltrate rather than remaining hidden.
Your team in the Council of Funding Nations has come up with info on another organization. This is the Unified Peace Front, an organization of nominal pacifists who are opposed to the funding of the Anti-Kaiju organizations, and intend to negotiate with whatever intelligence must be behind said kaiju. They have a number of prominent scientists in their rank.

The MPNA weapons are pretty far away, but you are reassured that progress continues.
The hoplite exoskeleton project begins pretty well. They're very enthused about the power-assistance, and say they can quickly make a suit that would allow an infantry unit to keep up with a bycycle, which is quite a bit faster than on foot. The durability is also achievable, although with some more effort. Power assistance is possible, and your design demands are taken to allow an infantry unit to use one Small weapon. It is said that the suits will reduce the ability to use additional equipment, and such a unit will be restricted to the [Small] weapon, their existing small arms, and the normal Rocket Launchers. One of those two other items could be substituted with some other piece of infantry equipment, naturally.

You get a demonstration of the beam gun.. and yes, it hits harder than an artillery piece and at a significant range.
Annoyingly, the APC-like is not actually an APC, and is unable to carry units. There is only enough interior space for a driver and a gunner. But it certainly does look tough, and the zap gun seems devastating, if perhaps less so than you might expect for a single shot weapon. It should be at least as good at the Jets being used by the USSCCI, and probably better.
The modern transport looks tougher than usual and fast, although it's still an open question as to how useful it'll be.

The EFFG Mk II project is completed. The new design of force-field generators are significantly more effective than the previous ones, with them being better able to counter high-strength hits, making units equipped with one even tougher than before.
The only downside is the team questions their usefulness on the best modern armour, citing that the maximum field strength isn't tough enough to realize the improvements over the FFG Mk 1 in such cases. They think that defeating said limitation will require more time and an increase in price, even if overall performance on a less-protected unit isn't improved further.
