Also, I have a kaiju brain.  I could sell it to the black market for 30 (and am tempted to, might be able to squeak into another jet), but I figure I should offer to sell it to another player instead.  It has to be researched before it can be used for anything.  It'd probably be amazing for Irony's sub, or on anything mad sciency--and beating 30 credits shouldn't be hard.  And that's assuming it's not plotty.

Question about the fog: does it hide the units below it at all? If not, what does it do to them?

Mechanically, it increases a unit's armor stat by one "grade", which is generally more than a linear boost in practice.  It would upgrade an obselete tank (150 cost) to have armor equal to a modern tank (250 cost), which is literally half of the difference between those two units.  ERA requires the unit to already have some degree of armor, and armor is only particularly useful it the unit is generally tough, but it's still a really good bonus.  It's definitely worth 50 money (technically more for reasons), and could be sold for a bit less while still turning a decent profit.

You tone down the nekobutchers somewhat.  It turns out that all the swapping may have lead to some lost time on the project.  The extra slot is quite possible and will take an extra month of time to produce as well.  Total time is four months to completion.

The demon building project continues as expected, with only two months remaining.

Gut processing leads to the recovery of two usable samples of Kaiju Guts.

You successfully infiltrate Red Sands.  It seems they aren't that heavily armed.. they borrow heavy equipment for show, but mostly they have conventional anti-infantry PMC gear.  They also have a lot of police-style equipment and body armour, but looking at it it seems to be no more effective than conventional gear.

They do some more snooping around, and eventually your team gets the skinny on their research programs.  The results are mostly disappointing.. there is some work on armoured trucks and special technicals, but it's been slow and ineffective.  The conclusion is that their research project exists for the purpose of enriching the organizers rather than producing anti-kaiju weaponry.  There is nothing in their program that would be useful to you.

Unfortunately, they are caught and forced to exfiltrate rather than remaining hidden.

Your team in the Council of Funding Nations has come up with info on another organization.  This is the Unified Peace Front, an organization of nominal pacifists who are opposed to the funding of the Anti-Kaiju organizations, and intend to negotiate with whatever intelligence must be behind said kaiju.  They have a number of prominent scientists in their rank.

Work on the Jaeger project continues well.. it should be ready in no more than two more months.

The MPNA weapons are pretty far away, but you are reassured that progress continues.

The hoplite exoskeleton project begins pretty well.  They're very enthused about the power-assistance, and say they can quickly make a suit that would allow an infantry unit to keep up with a bycycle, which is quite a bit faster than on foot.  The durability is also achievable, although with some more effort.  Power assistance is possible, and your design demands are taken to allow an infantry unit to use one Small weapon.  It is said that the suits will reduce the ability to use additional equipment, and such a unit will be restricted to the [Small] weapon, their existing small arms, and the normal Rocket Launchers.  One of those two other items could be substituted with some other piece of infantry equipment, naturally.

ETA is two more months.

You win the bids on the APC, the modern transport, and Beardo, the guy with the wicked Beam Rifle.  Or whatever it is called.
You get a demonstration of the beam gun.. and yes, it hits harder than an artillery piece and at a significant range.

Annoyingly, the APC-like is not actually an APC, and is unable to carry units.  There is only enough interior space for a driver and a gunner.  But it certainly does look tough, and the zap gun seems devastating, if perhaps less so than you might expect for a single shot weapon.  It should be at least as good at the Jets being used by the USSCCI, and probably better.

The modern transport looks tougher than usual and fast, although it's still an open question as to how useful it'll be.

Your infiltration team was captured by Emerald Robin before they could accomplish anything.  They have been returned to you in an unmarked shipping container after an humiliating experience being told how to really be sneaky.

The EFFG Mk II project is completed.  The new design of force-field generators are significantly more effective than the previous ones, with them being better able to counter high-strength hits, making units equipped with one even tougher than before.

The only downside is the team questions their usefulness on the best modern armour, citing that the maximum field strength isn't tough enough to realize the improvements over the FFG Mk 1 in such cases.  They think that defeating said limitation will require more time and an increase in price, even if overall performance on a less-protected unit isn't improved further.

Back to the drugs for a solution again, to the problem of having insufficient kangaroo in your lab.

You mostly achieve your goal, managing to fill your lab with a giant kangaroo, but there is still much lacking.  It doesn't have any weapons, per se, just ordinary feet and tail and hands.  Perhaps something can be improved that way?  It's also big, but not that big, being a huge rabbit about the size of a truck.

As for the sunglasses, additional pairs seem to be generated for each one removed.  It takes about 2-3 hours to do so.

Yes, they're giant sized now.

Adding the ERA kit onto your jaguar is surprisingly easy.  It seems the chitineous plates are not a true exoskeleton, but merely outgrowths providing protection to large parts of your kitty's body.

Setting it loose on some wildlife, you figure it's quite strong (for an animal), but not exceptionally powerful, pretty quick, but not impressively so, and fairly tough, but not extremely so.  Could still use more work.  And it comes back on its own.

Right, teleportation bullets!  Such an idea, it could only have come from you!  You must build it at once, after you write a long self-promoting tract about what a great idea it was, for posterity of course.

Eventually you finish up the multi-week project of documenting your awesome idea, and move onto the two-day implementation phase.  You do a little of that, twiddle a few things, and prepare a large box, similar to a muzzle brake onto the end of the tank cannon.  You aren't quite sure about it bypassing any armour, but it will cause the rounds to teleport themselves forward a short distance upon hitting a target.  Which should help significantly.

It's also incredibly good at shooting through walls now, for the record.

Well, maybe failing to hide isn't the best word for it.  It shrouds the unit, but the clouds aren't huge, merely widespread, and follow objects around like new puppies.  So you can tell where things are, if it makes it somewhat harder to hit them.

Time to make it a bit quicker, in the hopes it can keep up with the need to travel on the battlefield.  In doing it in the least mad-sciency way, you decide to go low tech and just bolt a big engine on it like a hot-rod, held in place by more tubular steel, forming a sort of primitive cage structure.

Wait, that's Mad Max style!  That's certainly mad sciency.

It can sure move now, though, with a great deal of power on a super-light frame, it bolts like some kind of experimental go-kart.  It probably performs as well as most products of the upper-end sports automotive industries, with it perhaps being a bit slower than the best of the two-wheeled supervehicles, but it can absolutely move.

Up stairs too.  And down into the supercomputer quantum zone.  And in the monkey cafeteria.  It does get around now, does it.

The stink eye feeling fades, to be replaced by a sense of anticipation?  Sure, go with that.

Still, you can't say it is done, per se, not being all empty like that.  And it's fast, but it could always go faster..
