Secondly, one of the energy signatures on the kaiju seems similar to the previous kaiju. It has a weapon that is probably related to the previous kaiju.
Lastly, it's definately weaker, although you don't have enough information to provide a numerical evaluation of such.
As for how it arrived, you find out that where the kaiju arrived into the world leaves behind a portal or disturbance of some kind. This lasts for a couple of weeks. When a kaiju returns to its world, there is no detectable disturbance, it simply seems to vanish from one moment to another.
